Smiles-Plus Dental Care

I just want to share my personal experience of the absolute five star service that I have received over the years I have been using Heather Shields as my dentist, and her practice at Armadale. I tried quite a few dental practices when I moved to Scotland and found them all to have pretty much the same attitude, and it wasn't that good. Someone recommended Smiles plus to me and as I had nothing to lose I tried it. What a difference, a clean modern surgery with a pleasant receptionist and a dentist who seemed to genuinely care about me. After listening to my issues and giving me a thorough examination, she referred me to the dental hospital and supported me all the way through my procedure. It also seemed strange to me to sit in a dentist waiting room and hear laughter. Heather has always put my care above cash and her own needs. She even sorted my tooth infection on a Christmas bank holiday, it doesn't get more caring than that. Heather Shields is a very capable and caring dentist, an absolute diamond, and I thank her personally for looking after my dental care over the years.

I have been a patient of Dr Heather Shields for more than thirty years. Heather is a wonderful dentist and she is always very kind and caring. I have had lots of treatment done over the years and it has never been painful. Before going to Heather , I was terrified of dentists but she made me feel comfortable and at ease from my first visit. The practice is very clean and modern and is run efficiently. I would certainly recommend this practice.I cannot speak too highly of the care Heather has given me and my elderly mum. I wrote my review a few years ago and I still receive treatment from Heather. She is such a thoughtful, caring person and has done excellent work on my teeth. My lovely mum was diagnosed with Alzheimer's and Heather was amazing with her. She was so kind to Mum and always treated her with respect. Because of this , Mum was happy to go along to see Heather to have a check up . I would totally recommend Dr Heather Shields to anyone looking for a dentist.

Once again I must thank Heather for her excellent service and at such short notice too! My pooch got hold of my bottom partial 😂 and left it in about 5 pieces. I phoned on the Monday to get an appointment to get a new plate made, imagine my delight when I was given a time that morning! And I was asked to bring the pieces of my broken plate with me. I was amazed when after having my new impression taken, Heather took the broken bits, and said I was to call on the Wednesday afternoon as if her dental laboratory could do a repair in the meantime, the plate would be back…… I did and it was! Awesome. I await the permanent one next week. My dental treatment has been in her care for many years now and as a previously fearful dental patient, I am grateful she was recommended to me. I have a life long fear of going to the dentist. But I go every six months for a check up because I know Heather understands this fear and does everything possible to make me feel at ease. She has shown me patience and understanding for in excess of 20 years and I’m very grateful to have such a supportive dentist.

Excellent busy dental surgery in Armadale. I've been a happy customer for nearly 30 years. I never have an issue getting an appointment quickly and the surgery is great at letting me know when my checkups are due. Heather is a wonderful dentist and I wouldn't trust anyone else with my dental care. I'm quite nervous when getting treatment but Heather puts me at ease and is so friendly, efficient and professional. The surgery is immaculate and spacious. There's also free parking spaces outside the surgery and also around the corner on the main street!

We have been patients of Dr Heather Shields since she first started practicing as a Dental Surgeon. I have a fear of injections and when these have been necessary she has been extremely patient and understanding and has made this experience, for me, bearable!! I have always been seen promptly if a tooth ‘emergency’ occurs. Any staff I have met at the practice have been cheery, friendly and professional. I would not hesitate to recommend this practice.

Absolutely brilliant treatment. The expertise, experience and skill of dentistry by Dr Heather Shields is outstanding. I had wonderful care and all the staff are kind, professional and reassuring. I have spent the past 20 years looking for a Dentist this caring and cannot recommend Heather Shields enough.
