A short while ago I had reason to visit the Park South Dental Practice (Swindon), as a large part of my front tooth had fallen out and I was concerned that the nerves may have become exposed to infection. The receptionist promptly arranged an urgent assessment appointment. Mark kindly found time amongst his scheduled patients to attend to the problem. Within a matter of days I would have a new front tooth and could eat properly without discomfort. I am very pleased with the work carried out at such short notice and am very grateful for the professional way this was handled. I am a long term patient at this practice and have always received good service.

The dental staff themselves are absolutely lovely, but my experience with the receptionist at the back was very disappointing. I was refused an appointment for my youngest because he had missed three previous appointments — he’s only three and had repeatedly picked up bugs. When I asked to book him in again, I was abruptly told, "You’ve missed three appointments so we have removed him. Did you know missing your child’s appointments is actually neglect?" I was completely shocked by this comment. She then said she would "give him one more chance" and booked him in for the following Monday, despite me explaining that I work full time and need more notice. Her response was simply a sigh and she very rudely gave me a different date. A very unpleasant interaction that really overshadowed the otherwise lovely dental team. If there was another dentist taking on patients, I’d move my children in a heartbeat to avoid further interaction with her.

If you read the reviews many say the same thing. Dentists and medical staff are lovely. Receptionist is a horrible person who has no social skills and arrives at work to upset everyone elses day.

Very nice dentist team, but the receptionist is very hard and rude. My child missed her appointment, because of time conflict and the way how the receptionist articulate her self was disrespectful. Swindon needs to get more dental practices to accommodate the residents.

I was super anxious about going in, the reception lady was blunt, rude and very unhelpful. The dentist could see I was really worried (even commented on my shaking hands) but instead of helping me be calm he gave me a lecture on how I should come more often and that’s the reason my tooth is hurting, he asked how many kids I have, then told me I need to set an example to my 2 kids of coming more often so they don’t become scared like me (My kids go often and perfectly to there dental appointments) When he rudely asked his assistant to get a form he loudly said "get the one with anxiety on it this patient definitely needs that one" … I didn’t need parenting lessons, or to be patronised.. I needed a tissue for when I cried and help to keep me calm from anxiety. Would definitely avoid this dentist!

I have a gaps in my teeth which I wanted to sort out. I went there and instead of talking about the issue they said I needed a teeth cleaning and filling. I didn't really want to do any of those things but they urged that the filling was necessary. I went ahead and did the filling. When they were doing the filling, they were in some sort of rush to do it. They did the cleaning and filling. After I came back my teeth were very sensitive. The only teeth that had the filling were sensitive. I called them up and explained them after a few days. They booked another appointment to have a look and they said it's because of the cleaning, I'm sensitive. I explained I've had cleaning done before and the only teeth with filling has sensitivity. But they ignored it. To this day my teeth are sensitive. I didn't need a filling. They made me have the filling and it ruined my teeth. I wish I never went there.

Avoid at all costs, even emergency appointments. NOT DISABILITY FRIENDLY or friendly whatsoever from what I experienced today. I was given an emergency appointment by 111 to go here due to a broken tooth. Traveled over an hour to literally be laughed at by the main dentist Mark. I struggle with agoraphobia, anxiety and complex post traumatic stress disorder. During my visit he made several unkind comments about other patients who would be anxious which already gave me the impression he doesn’t like nervous patients. He numbed me & I went back in ready to have my tooth out which I could still feel which he bluntly said if I could feel that I wouldn’t be having it out today. I explained tha I have anxiety while still being reclined for this man to literally laugh in my face, I then explained I have complex post traumatic stress disorder which I’m nervous around men for him to laugh again, I got up and fled the room in absolute hysterics and disbelief that someone had just laughed in my face at me for my disabilities I’ve no control over, a symptom of that being when triggered I can react. The receptionist (his wife) then followed me while I was crying, not to see if I was okay but telling me they cancelled my next appointment which I wouldn’t have attended after today anyway or ever again. The complaints go straight through to the receptionist, so I’ll be taking this straight to pals & cqc as after reading the reviews it seems many patients with disabilities have been treated unkindly and the unprofessionalism of the replies to the reviews are disgusting which I’ve screenshotted to send along with my complaint as I feel this is discrimination considering how often this is happening to those who are disabled. Not all disabilities are visible. To add upon this Mark made several comments about who was accompanying me, a friend? relative? It’s no ones business really & I didn’t feel comfortable explaining that was my fiancée due to being in a same sex relationship & already feeling judged and looked down upon. This is the worst experience I’ve ever had with a dentist. You state on your website "Our team will undertake to deliver the highest standards of clinical dentistry and customer care that we are capable of" which clearly you aren’t capable of the customer care part & need to get off your high horses and take accountability which again reading other replies to reviews is something you also don’t like to do.
