St Albans Orthodontic Centre

My daughter has been attending this orthodontics for 18 months. I would definitely not recommend it. The orthodontist is incredibly rude, has no interpersonal skills whatsoever. My daughter who is incredibly anxious asked him today, how much longer her treatment would last. He replied that it would be finished when it’s finished. He hardly acknowledges people. He does not give any update on the treatment or the procedures that he is caring out. My son attended angle house in Enfield. They were a 1000% times better.

I attended a consultation at St Albans Orthodontic Centre in July 2022 with Dr. Katrina Wagner. I was told I had chronic periodontal disease and that orthodontic treatment could not proceed unless I first saw a periodontist. This was very concerning and disappointing to hear. However, I later sought treatment at another orthodontic clinic, where I successfully completed orthodontic treatment without any diagnosis of chronic periodontal disease or requirement for specialist periodontal treatment. Based on my experience, I would strongly recommend seeking a second opinion before accepting such a diagnosis or treatment refusal. My experience caused unnecessary worry at the time, and I am glad I explored other professional opinions. Patients deserve accurate, evidence-based assessments and clear justification for treatment decisions. ** Attached is Katarinas letter sent to me. I stand by my review."

Amazing place, professional and friendly. They have done an incredible job on my daughter’s teeth and now i can’t wait for my son to come here as well. Thank you

I definitely would not recommend this orthodontist. He is unprofessional, rude and very unpleasant. I have made a formal complaint to NHS England, the GDC and the CQC. I would honestly urge you to look elsewhere for an orthodontist.

From the moment I walked into this dental center, the experience was completely unprofessional. The receptionist was rude, the dentist was just as dismissive, and to top it off, they canceled my appointment without notice—only to reschedule it 30 days later without even asking me. Who gives them the right to decide on my time like that? Absolutely unacceptable service.

I was a patient with Steve originally in 2007. After some careful thought I consulted again with Steve in late 2018 and decided to go ahead with double jaw surgery on Steve’s advice. I can honestly say this man has changed my life. With his advice and guidance I now have a functional bite and a smile I am proud of. Steve and his team have always been professional, supportive and helpful during my treatment. I have lived my whole life with a complex bite and jaw issues and I will be eternally grateful for Steve’s advice, support, referrals and treatment to give me a beautiful smile and a better quality of life. I wouldn’t go to anyone else for orthodontic treatment and I will be taking my children to Steve if the need arises. Thank you Steve, Katrina and team. I would not recommend that anyone use this practice. Out of the 6 appointments made the practice has only honoured 2 of them over the last 12 months. Each time they cancelled. In one of the honoured appointment they told we will have to wait 6 -7months for any treatment. We are still waiting 11 months on. In the other honoured appointment we spent money travelling and parking and they just looked at her teeth for about a minute and said they couldn't do anything now as the computer system is down. Why didn't they bother to contact us prior to the appointment? I subsequently asked for the complaints procedure, to date they have not emailed it to me!
