The Dental Practice Shenfield

I cannot recommend enough having your treatment hear, I was recommended by a friend for my daughter to have orthodontic work we are almost half way through and the care and results have been outstanding, we now use the dental practice for all our dental care.

I recently accidentally chipped my front teeth. The Dental Practise offered a professional, skillful and timely repair. My thanks to Mayuri and team for making me feel at ease and offering great advise. I would highly recommend this practise Matt

One of the best dental experiences have had! Emergency Wisdom Tooth Extraction!! All the staff were incredibly welcoming and calming. Dr Ernest Theron was/is patient understanding, and clear with advice/instruction. Seems to look out for what's best.....and he's absolutely hilarious, which calmed my severe anxiety. I've recommended them to all my family and friends. Thank you!!

I have had negative experiences at dentists before but this dental practice is by far the best I have been to. I went to the hygienist first (Phoebe) and it was the cleanest my teeth have ever looked after a trip to the hygienist, she was so friendly too. I then went for a dental checkup with Ernst and Grainne. I was really impressed by the whole experience. Ernst started off by asked questions to get a good understanding of my dental history and making recommendations for things like the type of mouth wash I should use. At the end he did an x-ray to give me peace of mind about a root canal I had done on a tooth years ago. After the x-ray he explained why my root canal tooth didn't feel quite right and explained the different options I had. Turns out the dentist that did the root canal originally didn't fill the whole root, but Ernst but very reassuring about it and came up with a plan for how we will monitor it. Lastly, I needed to get a new removable retainer fitted. Ernst explained why my original one didn't fit anymore and the new one I have is far better than the original one I got after my braces were removed. Overall this was a 10/10 experience and I will definitely be sticking with this dental practice.

Oh how things change - and not for the good!! Most important- the quality of care I received from Rebecca was excellent- as always, as was her clear interest in my welfare during my treatment. Such a difference to the very changed experience at reception - I simply cannot understand what has happened to the lovely and caring experience of the past!! When I entered the surgery the receptionist and one of the nurses were so busy chatting to each other there was absolutely no recognition of my arrival or interest in why I was there!! Worse though, my treatment having completed and my wanting to pay, the receptionist was more interested in gulping water from the bottle of water she held in her hand as she thrust the payment machine to me to do the necessary. Such a different and disappointing experience compared to the "good old days"!!! Perhaps some (new) staff need a bit of training of what class customer service and care is all about - and what patients used to enjoy. I realise the above is harsh - but its absolutely accurate and deserved. Sorry but …..!!!

I cannot fault my treatment by Dr Ernest Theron. My treatment has enabled me to regain my smile and my confidence. Dr Theron allowed me to be and feel at the centre of the decisions made around my dental care. Honestly, the most at ease and confident I have ever felt about my dental care. A greatly appreciated balance between relational practice and professionalism. I am saddened to hear that Dr Theron will no longer continue at the dental practice, hence the absence of 1 star. I hope the dental practice recognise the value of quality staff who are able to deliver exceptional practice.

Just thought I might share my views on this as it was a while ago and ended up moving dentists due to feeling very uncomfortable. Overall the treatment done was at a high standard by Ernst Theron II. But I’m a very anxious person and was hoping by the reviews I was going to feel at ease. Also after a friend recommending the dentist (Ernst Theron) I thought why not and she said he was very nice. But I normally don’t post about negative experiences but can’t help but feel super uncomfortable as my dentist made some really weird comments that may have been passed off as jokes? For example "you’re not very good at following instructions" or "are you’re just not very good at listening". It made me feel even more anxious and I’ve never returned after my treatment. Also when I emailed the dentist to ask for my x-rays they completely ignored my email. But I’ve been to other dentists before and they’ve said I’ve not been a problem. So i feel this may be a personality clash possibly? Also maybe because I looked poor lol
