Birchwood Dental Practice

I called today to enquire about an emergency private appointment. Unfortunately, my experience with the receptionist was very disappointing. During our first call, the line suddenly disconnected. I'm not sure whether the call was accidentally disconnected or whether I was hung up on, but I had to call back. When I did, I wanted to ask a few more questions, but it was very clear that the receptionist just wanted to end the conversation as quickly as possible. She gave me a number to call for an emergency appointment, but when I called it, I was told they couldn't help me because they don't accept private patients. This is something that could have been explained during my first call, which would have saved me time and frustration. As someone looking to become a new private patient, I expected to be treated with courtesy and offered clear information. Instead, I felt rushed, unwelcome, and like I was simply being passed on to someone else rather than being helped. The dentists may be excellent, but the first impression created by the reception staff was very poor. I hope this feedback is taken seriously and that staff are reminded how important professional and respectful communication is.

I had a sudden, severe toothache and called the practice in a panic. They were incredibly accommodating and managed to squeeze me in the same day. I cannot thank the dentist, Amy, enough for her help. She was so professional and thorough—she took an X-ray to diagnose the root cause immediately. She knew exactly what to do and ended up having to extract the tooth. The procedure went smoothly, and I am now completely pain-free! I am so relieved to have found such a caring and efficient team. Highly recommended!

Excellent service today. My 7 year old has an infected tooth. She was given an emergency appointment this morning with no fuss. She was so excited to see Amy again! I used to be so scared to go to the dentist as a child but Amy makes it such a positive experience. She even took the time to chat to my daughter about her upcoming birthday party. We are so grateful for the care we receive from this practice. Everyone is so kind and welcoming.

My 96 year old Grandma attended the practice for the first time. She was looked after by Eva and Robert who could not do enough for her and put her at ease immediately. Eva was very patient as my Grandma has poor hearing and explained everything to her so she understood what treatment was needed. They were a great team and I can’t thank them enough for making my Grandma feel so welcome and comfortable at the practice. Would definitely recommend.

Came in for a £59 check up but ended up being charged £119 for check up and scale & polish, which I didn ask for and in fact appointment lasted less than 5 mins. I tapped/piad and left. Came back 15 min later to ask for the money back but they wouldn't. Never used their services again. Complain ignored and review on their website deleted. Always agree price and check before you pay.

Dr Vish and Rhianna are absolutely fantastic! I’m so happy with my treatment and my teeth feel brilliant again. I’m a nervous patient and I’ve been made to feel at ease every time I’ve had an appointment. Thank you so much.

Attended this morning with my very nervous 12 year old grandson to have three teeth removed. Amy the dentist was top quality in putting my grandson at ease and displayed the highest care in carrying out the necessary procedure. She also followed up with aftercare advice which put my grandson at ease. Would highly recommend Birchwood Dental Practice. Mrs Glennen.
