So far had four appointments with Woods Dental, and despite me being a very nervous patient, I have to say that each visit has been a good experience. I had a filling replaced this morning with Alix, and she completely put me at ease with her pleasant and calm manner. No pain, and out in 30 minutes. My last surgery were so unfriendly that I would get very nervous and cancel my appointments, but that hasn’t happened here. Very happy. Have to edit this after a return visit 3 days later to get said filling checked. Again I saw the lovely Alix and she was extremely helpful with my request to polish a rough edge on the filling. However, the same cannot be said for the attitude of the receptionist on my arrival. I gave her my name, and she asked extremely loudly, if I had filled in the NHS forms. I said I had, and she answered "£36.03." The tone and volume of her voice and her whole attitude made me feel embarrassed to be an NHS patient. While waiting to be seen 2 days before, I had the misfortune to have to listen to the same obnoxious woman describing to her colleagues in great detail, all the medical procedures, operations etc, that she’s had. I hope the nursing staff didn’t make her feel ashamed for not being a private patient, as she did with me.
New to Private practice and I am delighted with the service. Friendly, informative and so professional. My treatment pain free and every step of the way explained in full. Cannot recommend Chris enough and now my visit to the dentist is no longer an ordeal but simply a means to a very satisfactory end. Thank you all. Frances Harding
After some long term dental issues I joined Woods and couldn’t be happier with the service and care provided. I have had extractions done by both Dr Pugh and Dr Woods and both have been amazing. No judgements, no lecturing, just real advice and transparency surrounding my treatment plan and the next steps. Clear communication from the reception team and the whole staff are super welcoming and calming. If dentist trips fill you with anxiety, I can’t recommend these guys enough!
What a sad end for 10 years of loyalty. I had a dental and hygiene appointment at the dentist, unfortunately my water pump went and so I was unable to make it. I therefore understood I would be fined for this. However, at present, I am struggling financially, as my wages have dropped by half. I would have liked to have arranged a payment plan for this, however, even though the debt is a month old, this has now been sent to a debt collector. I have realised I am just a number, the personal touch has gone. Zero understanding and it has only had a detrimental affect on me and compounded my mental health. Sam, the hygienist is amazing and I will miss him greatly, however I will NEVER go back to this dental practice again. Zero compassion.
I had composite bonding with Jonathan 2 weeks ago i would deff recommend him he was fantastic from start to finish and the end result are amazing thank you so much
I attended urgent dental care because a temporary filling on my front tooth had broken down and the nerve was exposed. Drinking or even breathing through my mouth was painful. I have also been told by previous dentists that I have very thin enamel on my front teeth, so these temporary fillings are essential to protect the nerve. Despite explaining this clearly, the dentist told me it was "not urgent," dismissed it as "cosmetic," and advised me to go private for veneers instead of providing a simple temporary repair. I left with no treatment and no protection for the exposed tooth. Very disappointing, upsetting and dismissive experience for an urgent appointment.
I have high praises for Dr Ray in Woods Dental Swansea. I have high anxiety around the dentist and needles and he made me feel as comfortable as can be. He talked me through it, letting me know why and what was happening (it was a difficult procedure that he admitted he didn’t know if he could successfully pull it off) the honesty and patience care from him was amazing and the extraction went off without a hitch! Even if it hadn’t his bedside manner and care were amazing. Thank you so much 🙂
