If you're looking for exceptional dental care in Southampton, then Damira Shirley Dental Practice is the place to visit. It's very easy to locate with a bus stop less than 2 minutes working distance from it. The staff are very friendly and the environment, very neat. Their services is top notch. The doctor explained every action and findings patiently as he progressed. Overall it was an amazing experience.
Iv been with Damira for quite a few years now. I have very bad teeth from years of mental health struggles where my oral hygiene was never a priority. I have seen various dentists at Damira and have always been made to feel comfortable with no judgement. I know that many dentists are turning to private only as working as an NHS dentist doesn’t cover their time and expenses. But I can’t express enough my gratitude for those who still cover this work. I wouldn’t be able to afford private dentistry and if it wasn’t for those still seeing NHS patients, I’d be in such a bad place. My dentist at the moment, Farshid, has been so understanding and made me feel so comfortable and removed several teeth and provided me with a denture as they were teeth at the front and visible. I can’t thank him enough. My confidence was so low, unable to smile and not wanting to go out in public because of the embarrassment. I know he is likely losing money by accepting to work on NHS patients, but he has made such a difference to me by putting my health and wellbeing before the money he could have been earning. All the team have always been fantastic from the reception team, dental assistants and dentists themselves. Thank you for helping me and not judging me.
I would like to share a disappointing experience we had with this dental clinic. We had an appointment scheduled for 05:00 AM for our six-year-old daughter, who is currently suffering from a tooth infection. We left home at 04:30 to ensure we arrived on time, but due to traffic we arrived at 05:12, just 12 minutes late. Unfortunately, the clinic refused to see us. What was particularly frustrating is that during a previous visit we were asked to wait around 30–40 minutes past our appointment time due to other patients being seen first. We fully understood that delays sometimes happen in healthcare settings. However, it was disappointing that the same level of flexibility was not extended to us, especially considering that this involved a young child experiencing pain. During our earlier visit we asked for the tooth to be removed, but the dentist attempted to treat it instead. Sadly, the infection returned, which is why we scheduled this appointment. We hope the clinic will consider showing more flexibility and understanding in situations involving children and medical discomfort.
We were greeted by a friendly lady named Fareena. She kindly took all the information required as it was our first time doing the emergency walk in. She registered my father to get seen by the doctor on the same day and for a follow up check up in a couple of weeks time. Hoping that seeing the doctor would be as pleasant as meeting Fareena. Thank you!
Polite and courteous initial telephone conversation to accept me as an NHS patient. Having completed all personal details online helped speed up the welcome to practice. An appointment within 24-48 hours of my call was equally welcomed. Friendly staff on reception, great welcome by the dentist himself and friendly honest conversations about my teeth. And a reasonable charge too.
Terrible service. I went to an appointment for new dentures, I had extraction of a tooth and impressions made on 3rd of March. This practice then canceled 3 appointments in a row. Today they called to say I need more impressions done. Still waiting on the dentures 3 months later. NHS patients are treated like 2nd rate patients. Terrible service would not recommend. Advise finding another dentist.....
Fantastic dentist practice with easy access Staff are very friendly. David Yuan is a such a fantastic dentist. After being petrified of the dentist and not going for years due to terrible experience with other dentists David knew I was so scared and has always explained everything and is really patient takes his time and very caring , especially when I had a massive tooth extracted. I am actually looking forward to my next visit with David . I am definitely going to look after my teeth now. Thank you Damira & David Yuan.
