Customer Reviews
St Mellion Dental Clinic has a rating of 3.3 out of 5 based on over 12 reviews on Google
I attended this practice with my 20-year-old daughter and the experience was completely unacceptable. The dentist aggressively challenged why I was accompanying her because she is an adult. Even after we explained that she struggles in medical settings and has anxiety, he repeatedly demanded to know "why" and appeared unwilling to accept our explanation, as though he expected a "better" reason. Her prescribed medication is also clearly listed on her medical form. Rather than showing any understanding or professionalism, the questioning continued in a confrontational and intimidating manner. I was then refused access to the treatment room, leaving my daughter visibly distressed and uncomfortable. What upset us most was the way the dentist spoke to both of us. I would like to add that neither of us are confrontational people. Making this a more upsetting experience. My daughter was extremely upset witnessing the aggressive and dismissive way I was spoken to, and I can honestly say I have never experienced such unprofessional behaviour in a healthcare setting. Patients should be treated with dignity, respect and compassion. Sadly, this appointment showed none of those qualities. We left feeling upset and humiliated, and we will never return to this practice.
ZERO STAR I attended this practice recently after not visiting a dentist for 5 years due to anxiety, and unfortunately the experience made me feel extremely uncomfortable. From the moment I arrived, the receptionist came across as hostile. When I went into the appointment room, the dentist did not greet me and immediately became confrontational about me wanting my mum in the room for support. I explained that I have anxiety and feel more comfortable having my mum with me, but instead of handling this professionally or compassionately, he repeatedly spoke down to both of us and kept saying that I am "an adult" in a very dismissive tone. He also asked whether my mum was "a carer or just a mum," which felt unnecessarily rude and belittling. I understand practices may have policies, but there is a respectful way to communicate with anxious patients, and this was not it. The overall attitude and lack of empathy made me feel judged rather than supported. I will not be returning and would not recommend this practice to anyone, to save you from meeting this horrible man.
attempted to attend my appt this afternoon at this dental surgery. I have underlying conditions and also feel very nervous about dental appts anyway. I am a teenager under 18yrs and preferred my mother to Accompany me on this occasion as I wasn’t feeling well. We are a normal polite family and not accustomed to abuse or offensive behaviour in our lives. As soon as we entered we were greeted by a very confrontational and aggressive attitude by both the receptionist and dentist. Clearly he was wound up about something else that day and we got the attack, but what an unprofessional and offensive man. We all are worried about covid and with our underlying conditions, we are super careful but both the dentist and receptionist should be working in Stalag luft 49 with their manners and attitudes! Horrid experience to find ourselves a part of this incident this morning and we won’t be returning to this practice… EVER! He should retire or be struck off. Wouldn’t allow our dog to be treated by him, and I’m not joking!
Always a professional and friendly service. Never have to wait past your appointment time. Both dentists make you feel relaxed and explain everything as they work on you. I drive a long way to this dentist as I don't want to change.
I have always found them very polite, and do their best to put you at ease, and ease any tension during treatment.
Excellent service. Good facilities, staff and parking. I think if you were a nervous patient, that this clinic would be helpful in gaining your confidence.
Such an easygoing and positive team to work with—full marks from me.
