Stoneyfield Dental Surgery

I'm going for four stars currently and an extended review of this practice. I came to this practice with Mr Parkin however long ago it was he opened, and at that time it was a great practice to deal with. When he retired things started to go downhill; very variable dental staff (the good ones didn't stay), the professionalism/ behavior of the reception staff also became quite poor, and they were subject to what I considered quite dubious business practices with respect to Private v NHS patients. In 2020 (just before lockdown) this resulted in being discriminated against for being NHS staff. I have been extremely lucky to get back onto a check up schedule after five years but can say that despite the obvious problems with staffing having had a couple of appointments again this practice has turned itself around and appears to be heading in the right direction especially if they can recruit some of the new dentists qualifying again now.

Excellent service at stoneyfield . i have had a few emergency appointments recently. I have had no problems being seen by the dentist , even though he is under pressure . The receptionist today had a very warm and professional manner and very understanding. I can not fault the service that I have had recently, hence the 5 stars. Many thanks 😊

Ignored me been a patient, 15 years just keep getting told no Dentist available and if it’s that bad to go to hospital now, been over two years with not so much as a phone back. But they are happy to take Me privately, the next day at cost of over £700 clearly nothing more than profit before patient care.

I was very happy when I first went to this dentist.I have been told the dentist has left the practice. I went in 2 or 3 times over 2 years to see if they had a replacement dentist.they make the appointment and then cancel it every time. They asked me if I wanted to go private which I can't afford. This is a NHS building so why are they doing private treatment but not NHS. I went up last time and saw patients getting taken for treatment. I'm not happy with this practice.

Great service from dentist Edward Boyle. Have been seen on a number of occasions with emergency appointment and problems and despite him been very busy he has always been very empathetic and friendly and taken the time to give me the best advice and see to my problems. Thank you so much 🙏

Well. Again I do not have a nhs dentist at Stoneyfield as my dentist has left. This has happened many times previously. I was meant to have a crown fitted in September but this was cancelled as i do not have a dentist. I have to wait until one is reappointed. I pay for my crown at a reduced rate but it still costs £200. If I changed to a private dentist I would probably get an appointment next week!

They don’t reply to emails and now they don’t even have an NHS dentist. They were fantastic 4/5 years ago ( when I last had an appointment which wasn’t cancelled ) such a shame.
