Downfield Dental Practice

Megan was the rudest person I met with sinister approach. She has neither got communication skills nor ethics, she should learn these things from her colleague Mr. Martyn. Wondering how she got the job.

Check ups I've had have been informative and personalised so my three stars is for that good service in the past. However, my hygienist appointments have been a faff to say the least. There is a revolving door or hygienists so you never see the same person twice which today left them scratching their head reading the previous notes and asking me to remember things they clearly should have written down. My appointment was late. Then there was confusion over which treatment to give me. The hygienist kept referring to "new regulations" but rarely expanded. Whilst I was having treatment other staff wandered in and they all had a big chin wag about a washing machine or something. Then again there was confusion over what I should pay. I felt like they didn't want me as a customer and were assuming I couldn't afford private because of how I speak and dress ( I can). Eventually managed to pay and say wanted appointment but then the computer system broke. The dentistry was fine but otherwise the hygienist service provided overall has been subpar beyond the actual dentistry. Seriously considering taking my business elsewhere if not for the previously good check ups

I was referred here from an emergency app as my own dentist (white pearl) didn't have any available and the dentist I normally see was on holiday. This was the worst experience at the dentist I have ever had in my entire life. Dentist I seen here didn't seem too bothered maybe because I'm not a patient of that practice. The way I was spoken to was rude and abrupt, walked out of this practice in more pain than I was in when I arrived there. I was given no treatment just antibiotics and told to see my own dentist 🤦‍♀️ took time out of work to go to this app total waste of time,. Receptionist was lovely and welcoming pity the dentist wasn't the same

Excellent staff excellent receptionist they treat my whole family here all on the nhs. Highly recommended!!! If you have a few pounds to spare they can also offer some cosmetic work too teeth whitening etc ..air polishing (like a jet wash for your teeth)is also available at this practice if you have a spare £65 a lot kinder to the teeth than a traditional descale and polish 👍🏻👍🏻

I think there are two dentists in the Practice, I got the larger lady... my god, the worst dentist ever! Half way through pulling out a tooth (which should never have been pulled out) she says if I don't stop squirming she is just going to stop and send me away. I have since had an operation to remove a wisdom tooth which was 10x more pleasant. She told me next time I come to the dentist I should see my Doctor and get temazepam to help with anxiety. I have told friends this story, all say I am the least anxious person they have ever met. I was a University Lecturer at the time, public speaking, no problem. Dealing with an incompetent dentist, nightmare. When I called to say I was changing dentists, the miserable receptionist said 'ah, another one' lol. That and the sign in the waiting area saying all complaints should be directed - elsewhere, pretty much sums up that hell hole.

They dint care about there nhs patients only there private.. receptionist is less than pleasant. I'm disabled and couldn't make it to the emergency appointment they tried to offer me a hour after my call, I couldn't get there in that time and also have my daughter which I'm not allowed to take in, was told well ill be waiting a week then for severe tooth pain. Find some where else because this is a bad experience especially for a disabled person.

Been going to this dentist for 5 years now with my family, always friendly and dentist and nurses are great with my two boys who are always scared of the big bad dentist but end up coming out wanting to go back the next day to visit. Would highly recommend.
