Customer Reviews
Newport Road Dental Clinic has a rating of 3.2 out of 5 based on over 39 reviews on Google
Had literally one NHS appointment here (after spending years on NHS dentist waiting list and being delighted to be finally allocated one) and then a few months later this practice sent me a letter saying they are going private patients only and so I either have to pay a private subscription fee to them every month or go right back to square 1 at the end of the NHS dental waiting list. Very disappointing behaviour by this practice.
This is by far the worst dental practice I have ever visited. The hygiene standards are absolutely unacceptable — the clinic felt unclean and poorly maintained, which is extremely concerning for a healthcare setting. On top of that, the staff were incredibly rude and lacked basic manners. There was no professionalism whatsoever — from the way they spoke to patients to how disorganised everything seemed. It honestly felt like they had no regard for patient care or comfort. The principal dentist was extremely disappointing. Her attitude came across as dismissive and unprofessional, and she did not seem to treat patients with the respect or care they deserve. There was a clear lack of communication, and any concerns raised were not handled appropriately. As someone in a leadership role, I expected a much higher standard of professionalism and patient care. Unfortunately, my experience reflected the complete opposite, which was very disheartening. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Save yourself the stress and go somewhere that actually values hygiene, respect, and professionalism.
I had a really disappointing experience at this dental practice today. The dentist’s attitude was quite rude and unprofessional, which made the whole visit uncomfortable. What frustrated me the most was that after the check-up, I was suddenly told they are moving to private services, with no clear explanation beforehand. It felt very abrupt and poorly communicated. Overall, the experience lacked basic courtesy and transparency. Definitely not what you expect when visiting a healthcare professional. Would not recommend
Would not recommend this dentist to anyone who actually wants their teeth looked after properly. Dentist is unbelievably rude with a bad attitude. Tries her absolutely best to peer pressure you into treatments and when you don’t agree feels the need to discuss your case with family members breaking GDPR. For the fact they’ve now gone private, save your money and go somewhere where they care of their patients and their teeth. I have now been going to a different dentist who is having to fix all the mistakes this dentist has made and what they have missed.
Attended this morning and was warmly welcomed and greeted by Dr Shahrzad. Always find Dr Shahrzad understanding, patient and reassuring. After a comprehensive consultation, was referred to the resident dentist (Tony), who is also very compassionate and competent. As an individual with long standing ingrained fear of dentists (from a very young age), I would say the dental staff at Newport Road Dental Clinic all work together to reduce these fears. Have been a patient as Newport Road Dental Clinic for over a decade now, I would highly recommend them. Mr S Phillips
I usually don’t leave reviews, but this one had to be said. First: the hygiene in that place it’s problematic and it’s fine for a restaurant maybe, but not for a dental practice. Second: the dentist that took my tooth out was so rude to me I cried more for that than my actual tooth pain. No empathy whatsoever, all she could talk about was HER, ex( I was in pain and she asked me to say something if I am in pain , which I did and she said to me to not talk while she has fingers in my mouth ) . Third: people come there to have something done which might be painful for them and your attitude reeks of " I’m in a hurry " … Honestly I saw a lot of reviews, and most of them are about someone’s bad attitude. I don’t know if it’s the same person but she was so unethical.
Dr. Shahrzad Yeganeh is currently my dentist, and had been my dentist several years previously. In my opinion she is an excellent dentist; always professional and thorough in her examination and explanation of necessary treatment. She is also very personable and friendly. Furthermore, other staff there reflect the obvious values of the practice.
