I am an extremely neurotic individual who requires an unusually high standard of care, attention and delicate handling. I have to say that the great Dr Patel and his amazing team could not have treated me any better, the standard and treatment I received far exceeded anything I could have expected. A year and a half after finishing my treatment, I had a follow-up review today. As always, I felt incredibly relaxed and safe in Dr. Patel’s hands—to the point that I mentioned I’ve actually missed our regular visits! Dr. Patel checked my bite, gums, and fixed retainer, providing excellent advice on how to maintain my results. Even though my case was particularly difficult and challenging, Dr. Patel’s work was exceptional. I am still extremely happy with the outcome!

We noticed early on that our son had a crossbite, and after some research, we decided to visit First Ortho to see if they would be the right fit for us and willing to take his case, as he was quite young.( just turned 6) Our general dentist had told us that most orthodontists wouldn’t even consider seeing him until he was around 7–9 years old. Dr. Patel was very reassuring from the start and confident that beginning treatment early was the right decision to correct the crossbite. Remarkably, within just three months, it was fully corrected! The entire process has been excellent—Dr. Patel is incredibly detail-oriented and genuinely cares about achieving the best possible outcome for his patients. We’re now continuing treatment to monitor our son’s development and help prevent an underbite in the future. I would highly recommend Dr. Patel and the entire team at First Ortho to anyone looking for high-quality, attentive orthodontic care.

I had the privilege of having my treatment for braces managed by Dr Patel. He has been a very important part of my journey as he has helped me gain confidence and love myself through my smile. Once upon a time, I used to shy away from social gatherings because I hated my smile and today, I am happy and confident to show my teeth when I smile. 8 years later, I still have my bonded retainers, and they are in excellent condition. He is truly meticulous with impressive precision in the way he handles my teeth. Dr. Patel has been with me through some of the most important milestones in my life — from being a shy girl, to perfecting my smile for my wedding, and now as a mum to two beautiful boys. I’ve also had the joy of watching him refine his already exceptional orthodontic skills and grow into his new practice in Buckhurst Hill. His clinic is a true reflection of him — beautifully curated with elegant instruments, stunning photography, and soothing music. Every detail feels like a work of art, just like his craft. I highly recommend Dr. Patel and First Ortho. At my appointment today, Dr Patel was excellent at emphasising gum health, which isn’t always the focus with other dentists. He gave me fantastic, personalised advice on maintaining healthy gums and even provided tools (like interdental brushes and a soft toothbrush) to make it easier at home. What really stood out was that he personally handled a thorough cleaning during my visit, which made a huge difference in keeping everything clean and healthy. Great experience as usual and would not go anywhere else for my orthodontic treatment!

I thought about getting Invisalign for quite a while but was unsure, then my dentist recommended Mr Patel to me. I went for my first consultation and he really took the time to establish what I wanted, and the best approach. I ended up getting braces (clear / porcelain upper and steel lower) which I never thought I would do, but it was fantastic. Mr Patel is extremely caring and passionate about his work and my views were always listened to. I had a great journey and it was exciting to see the changes. I have now had my braces off for three months, and feel so much more confident generally, and when pictures are taken. I would highly recommend Mr Patel to anyone and am so glad I did this!

I came to see Dr Patel because my bonded retainer I had fitted in my teens in Scotland was broken, and my boyfriend recommended his clinic. During the appointment, not only did he fix the retainer and made it feel better than it ever has but he also gave me advice on my gum health. He pointed out areas I needed to focus on to keep them healthy, and gave me a soft toothbrush to use to keep my gums healthy. What I though was going to be a simple retainer fix turned into a visit where he checked my TMJ - an ongoing problem with clenching my jaw, and a valuable lesson in how to keep my whole mouth healthy. This was the first time we'd ever met, and he noticed how some of my teeth were slightly shifting and tilting in, and how my bottom teeth had become uneven due to my grinding. I didn't even notice this myself. He's made me some plastic retainers to reduce the risk of my teeth moving further.
