Taylored Dental Care Idle

Being needle-phobic, I was absolutely terrified of going to the dentist from an early age. I’ve been a patient at Taylored Dental Care in Idle for many years (long before it became Taylored Dental), and from my very first visit, Kat knew exactly how to put me at ease. Nothing has ever been too much trouble for her—but most of all, her gentle singing and humming during treatments has always been incredibly calming 😁👍 Now, I’m at the point where I barely tense up when I see a needle, which is something I never thought I’d achieve. I feel so much more relaxed about visiting the dentist, and that’s entirely thanks to Kat and the rest of the friendly, highly professional team. Thank you all so much—definitely a well-deserved 5⭐ rating!

I’m always met with pearly white smiles from the lovely receptionist, who very professional and very chatted. For me it’s very important that the first person/people you meet of any business are welcoming. Kat my dentist is very honest and extremely truthful when it comes to the condition of my teeth, and any work that needs to be done. Thank you

As a very nervous patient I was made to feel extremely at ease today whilst having two fillings with Katerina. Extremely patient with me from the minute I arrived and the whole process was completely fine and pain free. I worked myself up over nothing! Couldn’t recommend Katerina highly enough - especially for nervous dentist goers!

I hadn't been to the dentist in a very long time. I came to Taylored Dental after hearing positive experiences from a family member who has been with them for some time. I needed quite a lot of work doing which I was apprehensive about but Kat was amazing. She was so patient and explained everything to me as she was doing it. I felt completely at ease and wondered why I hadn't visited sooner! At my final appointment from my treatment plan, they presented me with some gorgeous flowers which was such a lovely touch. Dare I say, I'm looking forward to my check up in 6 months! Thank you Taylored Dental 🤍

Mixed experiences: Be cautious when considering treatment recommendations I've had varied experiences at this practice. While I'm satisfied with my current dentist, I had concerning experiences with a previous dentist that I believe others should be aware of. 1. I was recommended an expensive night guard for teeth grinding, despite minimal evidence of this issue and in a way that I believe plays on people's anxiety so they jump at solving the problem. The guard when delivered was so bulky, it was horrendous to use and alternative options were not discussed that I only discovered after. But to make this worse, when I received a second opinion it turns out I wasn't grinding my teeth at all. The treatment was not necessary. 2. During a wisdom tooth extraction, the dentist was very rough during the procedure, at one point they were stretching my jaw so wide it felt like it was at risk of breaking. At one point, their instrument slipped and crashed into my other teeth, very surprised this didn't cause damage. Overall, I experienced discomfort that went beyond what I'd get for a tooth extraction. It's very difficult to get these sort of businesses to take accountability, reviews like this feel like the only way. I did raise this with Taylored Dental but received the standard response of 'we're sorry you feel this way'. Overall, I would recommend being cautious when getting treatment recommendations that you actually need it. Edit: Changed to one star due to continued lack of the practice taking accountability or apologising.
