I've been with Dentalcare BOA for a number of years. This week I had an appointment to see Isabel for some treatment, and Syed for a cleaning. Just WOW. I have never received such fantastic care. Syed probably gave me the best cleaning of my life- I am SO happy and can already feel what a difference it has made (and I have regular cleanings!) he's so considerate, thorough and gentle. Isabel went above and beyond, fitting me in for a last minute appointment. It was the most comfortable treatment of its kind I have ever had. She's such a warm, caring presence and clearly a sweetheart. The reception team, as always, were lovely. Ignore the petty reviews! I've never left a review for anything before, but can't stand when people leave negative reviews because of their own frustrations and lack of consideration for the realities of a busy NHS clinic. The NHS is underfunded and understaffed- everyone is trying their best. Thanks again!
The dentist we have, Isabel, is really lovely. She explains everything and takes time and care with our teeth. The reception staff are very busy, but there's always a welcoming smile, and they are very helpful too. The waiting areas are well arranged and have comfortable seating. Going to the dentist is always a nerve racking experience for me, but the calm and friendly atmosphere really helps to allay my nerves.
They just cancelled two booking on that day and need to reschedule again with short notice/no notice. Then This is the second time we come back while my children have wobbly teeth still there more then 7 months, we need to have 20 mins drive, and they still want us go back home to wait for another 1/2 year or book again, thanks God after some talk, that they took 5 mins to get the tooth off at last. But they booked a teeth check which cost me £50 while I never book it. Don't understand why they are not allow adult to go though NHS way but need to paid for the teeth check.
Today was the third time Syed has cleaned and polished my teeth and he never disappoints. My gums are very sensitive following chemotherapy damage and he takes the utmost care. He is very gentle but does the job really well. My teeth are always gleaming afterwards. I also appreciate the way he gives frequent little breaks which enable me to swallow or take a breath. Thank you Syed.
Every day I call and spend 30 mins or more on hold despite being ‘first in line’. On two occasions someone answered before I gave up, stating they’d call back. Safe to say they didn’t call back at all and when I called back to chase it up they were closed.
I've been visiting this dentist for a couple of years, NHS dentist and paying for a hygienist roughly once a year. However its extremely disappointing what I experienced the other day when visiting the hygienist. As I went to rinse my mouth out, there was something in the sink, could have been a bit of blood or food from the last patient, I've no idea but I spat out my water at the clean end of the sink but it left me feeling scared, infection control comes into my mind. And I left the surgery feeling anxious but didn't know what to do, part of me wanted to take a photo but this would have been difficult. Yes, I spat out at the clean end but I was shocked how it hadn't been removed before I entered the room. It maybe after a patient leaves the turnaround is fast, I stress it was a very small stain and can't be sure what it was, but its clearly a health and safety breach and I'm also angry that this could have happened. I wish I had said something if I'm honest but won't ever be visiting the hygienist again and will look for another practice to do so. I will still visit the dentist but how could this happen in the first place, I am truly appalled and disgusted.
Update, reply to response: I didn't fancy leaving a written review, but having been somewhat discredited by being told that you were "unable to identify [me] as a patient registered with [your] practice" (which, as you have my name I find hard to believe), I have decided to leave a full review. I was scheduled to get an x-ray done and get a wisdom tooth removed at 10am. The receptionist was lovely, but the rest of the experience was quite frankly the worst I've had at any healthcare practice in the UK. I had to wait for over an hour past the time of my appointment, with no communication until I had asked the receptionist who said she didn't know how much longer it would be. Then, I had to seek out a doctor (whose name I'm unsure of as he's not on your 'meet the team' section of your website), who appeared to be thoroughly uninterested in helping me but was instead eager to attend another woman who had only been waiting for half an hour. After telling him my name, and what I was there for (he seemed to have just walked in without any information about his schedule, patients, etc.), I was shown a screen with the entirety of the previous patient's details. Her address, age, name, details about her visit, and other data which should obviously not be public information. I was then told to put my personal information into the same form she had (after I had cleared it), and took a very rushed x-ray where the doctor (dentist - I have no idea who he was to be entirely honest) failed to properly adjust the machine which meant I was repeatedly hit by it when it was spinning around my head. Afterwards, I received absolutely no confirmation or next steps, and was just let out the room. I appreciate delays can sometimes happen for unforeseeable reasons, but even with the delay, communication is expected. The doctor/dentist who saw me was unknowledgable, disorganised, failed to follow data-protection rules, had a poor attitude, and seemed to be much more amicable with women then men. The fact it took an hour for a 2 minute x-ray, and I couldn't even get the operation done as there just wasn't a nurse is quite frankly unacceptable. There should have been prior communicaiton to reschedule, as I would not have made the trip had I known how long it would have taken for a simple x-ray. I would recommend people not attend this clinic. They showed a contempt for my time, the personal information of others, and did so with a poor, unproductive and inefficient service.
