High Street Dental

4.2

High Street Dental in Bedfordshire offers a comprehensive range of dental services, including Invisalign treatments, with a focus on both adult and pediatric care. While the practice demonstrates professionalism and efficiency in urgent cases—such as same-day appointments for infections—the experience may vary depending on the clinician. Some patients report exceptional care, particularly from dentists who prioritize clear communication and thorough examinations, while others have encountered inconsistencies in service standards.

The reception team plays a key role in patient experience, with feedback highlighting both warmth and occasional lapses in empathy, especially with younger or anxious patients. The clinic’s willingness to accommodate emergencies and its commitment to hygiene and safety are notable strengths. For those seeking reliable, compassionate dental care, High Street Dental delivers in many areas, though individual interactions may shape overall satisfaction.

Worst experience. It visited for the first time for my daughter. She cried a lot as it was totally a new place for her. The lady at reception gave weird expressions. A baby doesn’t know what is going on! She cried as she was scared. The staff who checked my daughter’s teeth was really nice. They tried to comfort her as they already know all children are different. Thanks to them as they understand. But totally disappointed with receptionist. They should understand that children cry. They can’t be compared to adults. So there is no need to be disappointed or giving rude expressions about their screaming.

I would like to give feedback and make a complaint about my appointment today. The dentist I saw (an Indian lady) was very unprofessional and did not provide the level of care I expected. She did not do an X-ray and seemed uninterested in properly checking my teeth. I have previously seen another dentist at your practice who was very professional, kind, and thorough, so I was disappointed by the difference in attitude and service today. I hope this feedback helps to improve the professionalism and care given by all dentists in the clinic.

Couldn't ask for more.. Got me booked In for an NHS appointment following some pain. I called back a few days later explaining the pain was bad and they got me in same day. Rececption staff were polite, dentist was polite and explained the issue as a gum infection.. I was in the building less than 20 mins total and now pain free. Genuinely. Thanks to the team for the service!

The receptionist is an amazing person. She receives people with respect and is very cordial. My dentist (M) and his assistant are very efficient and work with you through the process of your dental issues He takes his time to make you feel informed before any procedure. I'll recommend his practice to friends and family anytime any day.

Fantastic dentist. Do not listen to the old reviews. I'm not registered with any dentist but had an infection on my wisdom tooth, NHS advised me to call all the dentists in Bedford to obtain an emergency appointment. Not one dentist was remotely interested except High Street Dental, they had no space but very kindly squeezed me in anyway. Unfortunately due to no fault of theirs the first antibiotic I was given did not work so I once again phoned 111 and was given the same instructions. Again, no dentist could see me except high street dental and they squeezed me in first thing. I'd like to thank the lovely receptionists for helping me out the dentist for agreeing to squeeze me in.

My mother attended an appointment after waiting approximately two weeks to be seen for a partial denture fitting. During this appointment, she was treated by a new dentist, Dr Shar Unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing, upsetting and concerning. My mother informed me that she was not greeted professionally upon arrival and was instead spoken to in a cold and dismissive manner by Dr Shar, who simply instructed her to sit down. During the fitting, the denture was dropped onto the floor. Rather than properly sanitising, Dr Shar merely wiped it with a tissue before continuing the appointment, which is deeply concerning from a hygiene and patient safety perspective. The denture itself did not fit correctly, and was extremely painful for her to wear and when my mother politely asked whether it could be sent back to be reshaped or adjusted, Dr Shar ignored her concerns. Instead, she stated that my mother "had not been happy since day one" and brought up previous complaints that had been made about her regarding a wrongly made denture previously. This was highly unprofessional and inappropriate to discuss during a clinical appointment. The situation escalated further when Dr Shar then refused to continue treating my mother as a patient and asked her to leave the practice entirely. Refusing to give her the denture to be refitted by another dentist, being told by Dr Shar "no you aren’t having it" My mother was left distressed and humiliated following the appointment. My mother has just recovered from cervical cancer and to have a dental practitioner be so dismissive and condescending is extremely appalling. What is particularly concerning is the number of negative reviews regarding this dentist, many of which describe very similar experiences. This raises serious concerns about the way NHS patients are being treated at this surgery. The overall conduct displayed during this appointment was unacceptable and lacked professionalism, compassion, and basic patient care standards. And goes entirely against person-centre care and I believe this matter should be investigated thoroughly.

New Review cos I’m always happy about the service I get from here.: dental crown fixed in February and I’m doing this review in April. Still no pain 😊 So after a series of treatment from one tooth to the other like i cannot recommend my dentist enough!! He is amazing and always able to calm my anxiety. I had a previous experience of dental crown done somewhere and it was very painful so I was really scared this time too but as the dentist said to me don’t worry u will not feel anything and I didn’t need an injection as it was only going to make me uncomfortable so I listened to the advice of him and his super assistant and my tooth crown was on in 5 minutes 🙈😂. I was even feeling embarrassed about the whole fuss I made cos I was scared. To be honest I don’t like dentists but he is amazing and always calm and understanding. Thank you again. First review: A friend recommended this dental practice to me and I was able to book an appointment even though I was going through the NHS. The receptionist/dental assistant Aman is mostly the one I’m welcome by and she has always been very lovely and nice and made me at ease. I’m a very anxious patient but the male dentist (whose name starts with S) was such a good man he will make sure to explain everything to me so I understand what he was going to do. His patience with me was really amazing. I had a dental extraction with him and he did some of my fillings and repaired my front tooth which made me very insecure and unable to smile as I wished to. Now after 3 appointments I’m not that scared of going to meet the dentist and the experience has made it possible for me to be less anxious. I really want to thank the team cos they have always been amazing. I wish I had gotten all the names well 😊.
