Bath Orthodontics

All three of my children have been at Bath Orthodontics and I have to say the staff and treatment have been great. Sadly the experienced has been tarnished by a two tier system. Private clients have the flexibility to schedule appointments outside of a school hours, while NHS patients are forced to take their children out of school to take daytime appointments. I understand that the clinic will be making more money from private clients, but they are forcing poorer children and families to miss more school (through no fault of their own, apart from not being able to pay top whack for treatment). I know this is a business, not a public service, but the impact is it benefits richer kids and harms poorer ones. Is that really the kind of business we want to see in 2026?

Came back in for a retainer repair today after having my braces off a few years ago. They squeezed me in quickly a few days after calling and the orthodontist I saw could not have been nicer or more helpful. I’m generally anxious at the dentist and she was so pleasant, as was everyone else there. Thank you so much and have a lovely Christmas!

I’ve known Katherine Tonge professionally for a number of years. She is an extremely conscientious clinician who really wants the best for her patients and goes the extra mile to care for them. You will be in good hands here.

I could not have been happier with the excellent NHS treatment my son received here. The staff were professional and caring and the treatment modern and of a very high standard. My son’s teeth were incredibly crooked and he was embarrassed by them but no more. He is so much happier. I think continuing to wear the night retainer is important in preventing the teeth from shifting after braces are removed.

Both my boys have had their teeth straightened here. They are both thrilled with the results and always enjoyed visiting the practice for their appointments. The staff were always pleasant and informative at all times. Thank you for a first class NHS service.

We have had both private and NHS experience here and the difference is shocking. — Wrong appointment times made and therefore missed appointments through no fault of our own —One of the main issues here is that one orthodontist does not take lead of a patient, they are thrown between different orthodontists who have different opinions and do not communicate between themselves to determine the best route to fix issues -Massive lack of empathy from majority of staff there (Toni & Katherine are exempt from that), having braces on for over 30 months is not fun and a bit of understanding would be nice Personally we would never recommend this orthodontist, and regret ever starting the process of braces with them.
