Bonnygate Dental Surgery

Absolutely shocking service from the dentist. No compassion communication or professionalism left in tears. I had missed an appointment in 2023 when my mother had suddenly passed away fast forward to today I have severe tooth pain. I called Nhs 24 and was told that I was still registered at Bonneygate and they would see me if I paid the £30 fine for not attendance. I turned up paid the fine and saw the dentist. No communication from the female dentist, barely spoke a word, told I had an abscess and needed to get my tooth out given a script for amoxicillin. After my assessment was over I asked will I just book an appointment at reception, to be abruptly told you’re not registered here. I said to the dentist that I had been told that if I paid the £30 missed appointment fine then It would be fine. Abruptly told that’s not how it works here. I just got my things and left cried all the way home felt totally embarrassed. Safe to say I will not be sitting in that place again. Receptionist seem friendly and smiled as I try to leave. Phoned NHS again and the woman said that the dentist had no right to treat me that way and have a duty of care to see me for 3 months but understood I wouldn’t ever go back, given a list of local dentists in the area instead.

Very unhappy with our experience with one of the receptionists working here. She has been rude to us on a few different occasions, with absolutely no reason. After trying to get an emergency appointment one day, we phoned up and was given a time in the middle of the day. Being self employed, this was not something we were able to do, and her response was bluntly "well that's not my problem" and hung up on us. Another time, we arrived 5 minutes late for our appointment and was told straight away (without even checking) that we wouldn't be able to be seen as we were late. Last time we had to wait 15/20 minutes before we even got seen. We were then given a rescheduled appointment for 2 months later!! Our dentist is great, but the receptionist needs to go back for some training on customer relations!! I understand they are very busy but there is no need to take out her stress on clients.

I first got recommended to this surgery by a friend when my wisdom tooth was impacted and my previous dentist wasn’t much use on the matter. Claire was amazing!! She tried her hardest and succeeded to fast track my surgical extraction even through the height of covid. The staff are all amazing from the dentists themselves to the dental nurses and receptionist. Can never fault the environment or the services received.

Excellent service, professional and friendly staff, was made to feel at ease during treatment.

Superb service once again cannot fault this practice at all.
