Dr. Ellie Williamson is honestly one of the loveliest dentists I’ve ever come across. She works at Wortley House Dental in Haxby, and from the very first appointment, she made me feel completely calm and at ease. I usually get quite anxious at the dentist, but her gentle and reassuring manner makes such a difference. She’s so kind, professional, and always takes the time to explain everything clearly. You can really tell she cares about her patients and wants them to feel comfortable. I couldn’t recommend her enough – she’s amazing! Her nurse is also great, small and blonde think it’s Paige!
Was with Wortley dental for twenty years left last year as the receptionists were too busy chatting amongst themselves, very rude, hygienist that I kept getting was not fit for purpose and I had a bad experience with them, didn't recommend a course of treatment for my gums, would not recommend
I've just had some work completed by Pamela and I'm so happy, she is an excellent dentist and the way that she works is so professional. During having my routine check I mentioned about wanting a new replacement front tooth and Pamela gave her thoughts on what would work best. Within just 3 weeks and 2 appointments the work was completed with a fantastic result. The 2 dental nurses (sorry I didn't get your names) who were both really friendly worked in sync so well with Pamela, making the experience of sitting in the dental chair even more comforting. Thank you Pamela, you have sorted me out and I'm very impressed.
My husband and I have been with this practice since 1994 ( 28 years ) and my children since birth. It used to be a fantastic practice, we had the same dentist for years and were very happy. However, the service and standard of care has gone down hill steadily over the last few years and is now disgraceful. Appointments cancelled regularly at short notice, dentists changing constantly. Some receptionists rude and unhelpful, whilst others can’t apologise enough for the bad service. I have now found a much better practice that actually seem to care .
Removed me as an NHS patient after 30+ years with no warning, heads up or anything. They cancelled my appointment due to covid lockdowns and they said I didn't rebook fast enough. Only found out because I called them up asking for an appointment. The receptionist tried to convince me that it would have been totally impossible to notify me before removal as they would have to contact 1000s of patients every day. If you are really removing 1000s of patients from your books every day, you have bigger problems. More likely, this was just a pretty pathetic excuse for their incompetence. I've been going there all my life, it's so sad.
I used to have Megan when I went to the dentist. Then a couple of weeks ago I had Pamela Akuku assigned to me which had me a bit worried as I am not a fan of going to the dentist at the best of times and I don't like changing my dentist. I saw Pamela this morning and what a fantastic dentist she is. I was given a filling had a tooth filed down and then had them cleaned all without an injection and didn't feel a thing. I am home with no numbness able to eat without chewing my inside cheeks to bits and feeling very comfortable. Great experience, thank you Pamela
There seems to be a trend developing here, not that anyone in authority will care. If I were responsible, I might ask why so few reviews, why no responses, and what are we doing to improve. I’ve been trying to register my son for an NHS dentist here for more than 12 months; not that Wortley House Dental Practice would know, because they don’t maintain a Waiting List. New NHS patients are encouraged to call at 0830 on the first or last day of the month, but must then attend an appointment within 2 weeks. Getting through to reception is hard enough, calling at precisely the right time is a lottery, and guaranteeing your student offspring are available within two weeks is near impossible. On the one hand, I’d describe the performance of this Practice as shocking, but on the other, I believe it’s an opportunity for a strong Practice Manager or business improvement consultant to make a huge impact with ease. Very disappointing, and indifferent, uncaring receptionists.
