6.0

Mydentist in Higham Ferrers offers a mixed experience to its patients. The reception team is often praised for their friendliness and efficiency, going above and beyond to accommodate last-minute appointments. The hygienist services are particularly noted for their professionalism and thoroughness, ensuring a comfortable experience. However, there are inconsistencies in the quality of dental care, with some patients reporting excellent service while others have had distressing encounters.

The practice is convenient for those seeking emergency dental care, but there have been instances where emergency appointments did not meet expectations. Patients with specific needs or disabilities may find the reception staff less accommodating. Overall, the experience can vary significantly, making it essential to approach with cautious optimism.

Excellent service from start to finish. The reception team are always friendly, welcoming, and happy to help. They went above and beyond to find me a last-minute appointment with the hygienist, which was arranged quickly and without any hassle. The hygienist did a fantastic job, was professional and thorough, and made the appointment comfortable throughout. Having previously used mydentist Rushden the difference in service is very noticeable. I will now be using the Higham Ferrers practice from now on.

The 1 star is for the lovely receptionists who comforted me after a horrible experience. I don't know the dentist's name but she was truly awful. After paying £135 for an emergency appointment to remove a broken tooth, I was told it wasn't possible because she didn't have enough time and I would have to rebook after the bank holiday weekend. Why allow a booking for an emergency extraction to then say that it can't be done that day? Moreover, I specifically asked the dentist not to touch the exposed area, but she ignored this and hit the nerve with an instrument, causing severe pain to the point that I yelled. I've had 2 kids & know that my pain tolerance is pretty high, but wow - the shock of the pain coupled with the nonchalance of the dentist was truly awful. For this fantastic service, I was told it would be £65 today and further fees for the surgical removal another time. £65... to look in my mouth and hurt me...? I left with a full refund but only after being reduced to the point of tears at 27 years old lol. The dentist’s attitude throughout felt dismissive and insensitive, including making a joke about needing to "poke it" to see what's going on (the tooth is an gaping hole) after I had just experienced significant pain. Overall, an extremely poor and distressing experience.

Was greeted when I arrived with friendly happy receptionists. My dental hygienist Maria as usual was very welcoming. When I left the receptionist asked me if all went ok with a smile which was quite nice. Overall very good experience.

Would be zero stars....absolute disgrace. Went in with an emergency, my filling was out and tooth open....was told I needed a check up as is procedure...yup...ok.....but that it would be fixed or temporarily so......so I got a check up....and that was it.....well there isn't an absess....which isn't what I thought was there....and was expected to leave and come back with a broken tooth that is painful and nearly 30 quid lighter. Dentist was upset I was laughing at the bad treatment so refused my treatment. No refund though. Pretty sure that is thieving.

My usual dentist under nhs yet encouraged to pay for private felt very coercive and was told I had to pay even after finding out my issue fall under nhs guidelines for free / banded care yet told had to use the private .. asked for info and understanding due to LD mid sentence of me talking was interrupted and spoken to rudely by a lady at reception called Lesley! Shame that people are not more understanding of others difficulties and feel the need to talk down to people! Wouldn’t recommend dealing with her, but my dentist was lovely and very understanding of my individual needs — Also now seeing other reviews all which are bad saying rude lady at reception and very unhelpful and rude when it comes to disabilities and support needs

I joined this dental practice along with my son, and we both had our first visits recently. Overall the experience of getting registered was very straightforward and easy and I was able to do this over the phone. This was followed up by an online form which was again easy to complete for myself with my sons being completed on paper at the practice. Reception staff were really lovely and helpful and explained everything clearly. The dentist/s themselves were really lovely, and I feel they did a really thorough job for my first check-up with them. They made some suggestions, and scheduled a follow up for me right there and then. The dentist really took their time with my son, as mentioned this was his first appointment with them since his teeth have come through and they made him feel really comfortable. He was able to stay seated in his pushchair and they had a little chat and giggle with him just checking which of his teeth he had, followed by a quick discussion about our brushing routine and his diet. Overall I'm really pleased and happy with both of our experiences and would definitely recommend them 🙂
