4.5

Chells Dental Practice in Stevenage offers a professional and efficient dental service, with a team known for their compassionate approach and ability to handle difficult situations with care. Patients appreciate the practice's long-standing commitment to quality care, with many reporting positive experiences, especially with children. However, there have been instances of communication issues, particularly regarding appointment reminders and patient registration policies.

The practice is praised for its professionalism and expertise, with dentists like Hiran receiving high marks for their skill and patient comfort. Yet, some patients have raised concerns about unnecessary treatments and a perceived focus on upselling services. Been going to this dentist since I was 4 I’m now 30 never had a bad experience at all BUT… after missing ONE appointment they have informed my mother…NOT ME (breached GDPR as I’m no longer a minor) that I am no longer registered this is UNACCEPTABLE, UNFAIR & DISCRIMINATION. My reason for missing this appointment was very personal & could not be helped as I was actually in hospital at the time. Now the time before this they cancelled my appointment themselves due ‘unforeseen circumstances’ they informed me to reschedule which I did & when I knew I couldn’t make that appointment I called & rescheduled that should NOT count as a missed appointment. So where is my 3 missed appointments before de registering like everybody else??? I’m will take this matter further as this could be classed as negligence which is totally & utterly wrong for ONE missed appointment it’s DISGUSTING!!!!!

Extremely rude receptionists - stating missed appointments occurred when they clearly are looking for reasons to not see NHS patients rather than speaking the truth. Their clear disdain for patient welfare should put prospective patients off using their services. Shall register elsewhere that priorities patient safety and experience.

Don't think I have ever seen the same dentist twice and have been coming here for years but always find them professional and efficient and always good with the children. The dental nurses are usually helpful and friendly too. Only negatives are that I very rarely get reminders on when appointments are due, even though have raised this previously, and when I asked Reception previously on what the minimum attendance was to stay on their register was told I had to attend every 6 months which I don't think is accurate.

My wife and I have used this dentist 3 times each and would not recommend it. Every appointment there has always been 'extra work' needed. The last one, my wife, was told she needed work that was expensive, which was unusual as she has looked after her teeth well. She decided to go elsewhere for a second opinion, and lo and behold, she was told that no work was needed and would have been completely unnecessary. Feels like they were just trying to rip us off to line their pockets, and judging by the expensive cars outside, they do it with a lot of people.

Omg just had my dental, didn’t hurt me anywhere near as much as I thought it would! I have seriously sensitive teeth & having a hygiene appointment usually fills me with dread but I can honestly say it was at most uncomfortable & not terribly painful, almost relaxing. I was genuinely apprehensive about the appointment but Hiran was very professional, reassuring & most importantly didn’t hurt me. My teeth & gums are clean & on the way to being healthy. I wouldn’t hesitate to book another appointment.

I had high hopes for this dentist as I haven’t been seen for four years and I really need my teeth checked. As I have a neurological disorder I took my husband and grandson with me. I was asked if I wanted to see the dentist downstairs and I said yes that would be easier. Half an hour passed by and it was my grandson’s lunchtime as we hadn’t bought anything with us and not being prepared for such a long wait, we went home. I didn’t see a dentist, just an unsympathetic receptionist.
