Purley Whites Dental Care

My child was seen at the practice at Haling Park Road, the Receptionist Haley was very pleasant, and all staff were great, including the Dentist!

I am extremely disappointed with the care and service at this dentist since the new owners took over. My mother recently had a procedure that turned into a traumatic experience. Despite her being in obvious pain, the procedure was stopped midway because the numbness wasn’t working, and she was told she would have to return another day. This was particularly upsetting given her previous experience here, where she had to go to A&E after a procedure and ultimately had her tooth removed. When she raised her concerns and complained, instead of offering an apology or resolution, she and my sister were told never to come back! This is unacceptable behavior towards a patient, especially someone as gentle and soft-spoken as my mother. The level of care has significantly declined, and it feels like the focus is solely on money rather than patient well-being. While I used to enjoy the family days for my sons, this experience has made it clear that I can no longer trust this practice. We won’t be returning, and I strongly advise others to think twice before choosing this dentist.

I made a appointment for the removal of my daughter’s baby tooth and I briefly explained this to them but for the first two appointments it was only for a check up and cleaning then on our third appointment they booked it for the confirmation of removing the baby tooth and on the first appointment we did look for a dentist however it was looked at by physiotherapist (first time I heard about this from dentist)and they didn’t mention this to us at all. In these three appointments within three months we are still having to wait to sort it out, but my daughter had experienced this two years ago and we went to the Purley dentist and they removed it on that day within 15 minutes but it is quite far from my home.

I've been going to this dentist for years my doctor was dr roxy and I loved her. She left the practice now i know why. Having said that I will not be going back to this dentist ever again. I had an appointment every 6 months for a teeth clean. before my last appointment with the hygienic it was a young man that didn't know what he was doing and couldn't tune any of the equipment on I was in his chair for 20 minutes until a dentist came and helped him out and I was not really happy with my teeth cleaning because he was running out of time and did a quick job. Which was not a big deal. But my last appointment was unforgettable I walked in to a construction site the smell of paint gave me a headache. There was pails of wood and construction equipment everywhere there was almost no where to seat. The receptionist was a nice lady and was polite. But the hygiene was so condescending and rude I was shocked to see someone act like that. I just look at him waited for him to finish talk. And told him that I have a dentist and I have spoken to him about my problem. And walked out. I normally get my teeth cleaned every 6 months. I will never go back and I will tell all my friends not to go here as well. Spent you money somewhere that actually care about the you and not just to making money.

Very pleased with the work carried out by Dr Simon. He explained, ahead of the procedure (wisdom tooth filling), some of the difficulties that might be encountered due to the position of the tooth. My expectations were managed extremely well, and I was kept updated throughout, and felt very safe in his hands.

This dentist was good until they sold out to Gentle Dental. Since then I have had a terrible time with the dentist, hygienist, reception and telephone service. I left a Gentle Dental practice a few years ago because they just treat you like money on a conveyor belt and didn't care for my gums, they spent so much time trying to sell me teeth whitening and cosmetic procedures. This is how I now feel at Purley Whites, the dentist told me she is required to book NHS appointments at 5 minute intervals, that's ridiculous. I've found a new dentist who treats me like a person and offers me actual care and advice.

Can't fault the dentist/hygienist but the admin side has has really gone down hill. One appointment not booked, the rescheduled appointment was booked for wrong time which I only discovered after a call from the dentist who called to ask my to change the appointment. That was rescheduled, then then the day before that appointment I had a call to tell me the appointment had to cancelled because the dentist was ill. Totally understand the rescheduling due to illness but I have been trying to get a successful check up since the beginning of November. Suffice to say I have registered to another dentist.
