Damira Oxford Dental Practice

Very happy with the service. I had quite a lot that needed doing and the team are very helpful and flexible. Of course dental appointments sometimes run late, but here they are generally pretty good and the treatment I have had has all seemed excellent. When things were not perfect they were remedied quickly and with no fuss. And they will always try to fit me in with appointments to meet my schedule, when they can.

Very poor experience. The practice lost my dental mould and failed to communicate properly throughout the process. Staff were unfriendly, and despite the issue being their fault, there was no accountability or meaningful apology. Extremely disappointing service. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this practice unless you want to waste your time and money.

I had quite a poor experience at the dentist. He checked my teeth for no more than 2 minutes and wasn’t very welcoming. I was 10 minutes late for my appointment, as I was travelling from work, so that may be why it was short. But when I asked him why the appointment was so short, he just said there was nothing more to check. The receptionists were nice and helpful though.

I felt compelled to write a review, having read some of the bad reviews for this practice, as I have to disagree. I have found the reception at the dental practice to be excellent and very helpful, face to face and over the telephone. I have only been with Damira for past 6 months, I moved across after my original dental practice changed to take only private and was no longer NHS. The first dentist that I had, I didn't feel comfortable with and I asked to move dentist. I felt that I was listened to really well by the team at Damira, and I was moved to a Dentist that I now feel I can trust. My new dentist has been very patient with me and I am currently very happy with the service. My wife and children are also patients here and are equally as happy. The only negative is that there is no parking!

If you need an invoice for the appointment, DO NOT LEAVE until you get it in person after the appointment. Absolutely appalling and incredibly frustrating service to try to get one invoice, only to find it’s lacking the detail I need: it’s been a nightmare to get an updated invoice. Their administrative office is a shambles. When I was waiting for my appointment, the reception desk even sent the wrong patient to the wrong doctor, and lost a patient in the waiting room. Their email address is unmonitored - not a single email answered after multiple attempts - and on rare occasions you can get through to the reception via telephone (it typically sends you to the central office), the line is terrible and keeps breaking so you are sent back to the queue. There is no way to contact this practice after booking the appointment online and turning up.

The dentist i saw was very professional and knowledgeable, Pierluca Campana is the one you want to see if visiting. The Assistant Manager yasmin is also awesome. So helpful, and a pleasure to talk to.. ThankYou

Update: In June 2026 I returned for an NHS checkup with Dr Ubah Abdulkadir who was absolutely fantastic - by far the best dentist I've ever had in my life. I very highly recommend her, she's so kind and welcoming and puts you at ease, and really takes the time to explain everything very clearly, listen to any concerns you have, and answer questions, even within the limited time available for NHS slots. The organisation at reception was also a lot better this time. I have updated my rating as a reflection of last year's zero star experience and this year's five star experience. Thank you to Dr Abdulkadir for a brilliant experience that restored my faith in NHS dentistry. Original review: I went in July 2025 and saw Mouhamed Hamdi for an NHS checkup. First of all, the receptionist failed to check me in despite me telling them I was there (around 15 mins early even). About 30 mins after my appointment time I asked again and they admitted they'd forgotten me and I'd missed my appointment, entirely thanks to their incompetence! They then squeezed me in between two patients and the checkup lasted around 3 minutes. It could not have been less thorough. I have since requested my records from the practice, where it states that I turned down NHS tooth scaling, but it was never offered to me. Instead, they were trying to sell me teeth whitening for £500 and a private hygienist appointment. It is clearly stated by the NHS that tooth scaling is offered with an NHS check up if the dentist considers it necessary. It is not acceptable that I was recorded as refusing tooth scaling when I was never even offered it. Unfortunately I will have to stay with Damira because it is impossible to find any NHS dentists with availability. I hope their service improves.
