After 25 years of travelling a long way to attend this dental practice in Leeds city centre, I am genuinely shocked and saddened by my appointment yesterday. Since the practice was taken over, the level of care over the last year or so has declined dramatically .  My Denplan plan package and pricing changed without any communication or explanation. I have never seen the same dentist. I have never had anaesthetic for a hygiene appointment before and this was the dentist’s recommendation as it would be painful ! After commenting how good my teeth were ? . I refused. The dental treatment I received yesterday was shockingly poor, and the previous hygiene appointments have become extremely uncomfortable due to a complete lack of awareness when working in such close proximity with patients. I have never once felt uncomfortable at a dental appointment before now. Sadly, I can no longer recommend this practice at all, and after 25 years, I will definitely not be returning.

Absolutely shocking practice not only with treatment but with customer service had composite bonding done 18 mth ago having gone back two times and they look worse than when I walked in, on my first visit I had the treatment and then the dentist had left and was told if I wanted anything further doing I would have to pay again after spending £1800 on a treatment that as now left me looking absolutely horrendous with wonky gapped and different shaped teeth , the practice manger is never there and iam always left with just the receptionist that’s doesn’t really now how to deal with complaints, I have also sent a email to the practice manger hoping this issue can be rectified I have added pictures of work done at this practice avoid at all cost and will be taking further

I’ve been to this dentist a few times and have not had the best experience. Most recently I went to get my chipped tooth filled and paid a £50 deposit. On the day the dentist informed me that it would be £150, but when I went to make the payment I was told by the receptionist that she didn’t know I had paid a deposit and it was £175. I informed her that I had been told £150 by the dentist and she told me that she does not know prices. I further queried this price change and was told prices had gone up.

City Dental booked an appointment for me without my request or consent and stated I would be charged if I did not attend. I had not been a patient for around two years and did not ask for any appointment. I explicitly requested that the appointment be cancelled, yet it was not cancelled at the time of writing. Using a former patient’s personal details to create appointments without agreement, and then threatening fees, is unacceptable. Avoid this place!!

Had cosmetic work done with them once a year ago. Now I'm receiving text messages asking me to book a check up... I have check ups with my own dentist so I ignore them. Suddenly received a message saying they have booked me an appointment! I've made no appointment with them. I wont be wasting my time calling them to cancel either. They shouldn't be doing this.

Avoid. Incorrectly took payment without authorisation for a missed appointment that was never missed. Used to be a good dental practice, had been going there for 8 years, but taking payment incorrectly and without authorisation is theft. Small claim court raised, even though it’s going to cost me more, as it’s the principal.

Where do I start - I was with this practice for over 20 years and joined this practice on recommendation. I used to pay a monthly Denplan / practice plan fee. Below is a breakdown of the issues I’ve experienced since this practice got brought out and Sunny left: 1. I was never informed that Sunny was leaving, he had been my dentist from day 1, I was shocked to see that no form of communication was sent out to me. From a customer service perspective I would’ve expected a letter in advance or phone call for reassurance. 2. On a positive note I had my first appointment with Nasir (who has left) he reassured me that I would be looked after. However when making this appointment I was advised that due to the monthly payment I was on they no longer had a hygienist for me and that the dentist would be doing the check up and scale and polish. Again where was my communication in advance, I had the same hygienist for a number of years and was never informed that she had left too. The scale and polish didn’t feel like a deep clean that I was used to. 3. I raised my concerns with the manager at the time about the scale and polish at which point she informed me that the information I was given about not having a assigned hygienist was incorrect and that I can book in separately with one and at the time they didn’t have any in house hygienist so the dentists were completing the hygienist appointments. The practice manager had booked in an additional appointment with a hygienist to compensate for the treatment I had received so far. Once again lack of communication. 4. Months had passed and I was due my next appointment, after calling in I was advised that Nasir had left and I had a couple of options for a dentist. Again lack of communication and now I had lost my faith in this practice. 5. My appointment was then made with Dr Hassan and I was reassured once again. The day before my appointment I received a call asking me if I could Attend my appointment slightly later as the appointment before mine would be running over because of treatment with a patient. I have a busy schedule and was extremely annoyed about this but had no choice. When arriving to my appointment I was seen to on top, I discussed the call I received about change of time at which point the dentist had advised he travels from far and not a morning person. I’d rather the receptionist had been honest with me or atleast not given me that appointment time as an option. Dr Hassan did a great job with reassuring me and even walked me down to the receptionist to make sure I was looked after. At this point I had a few discussions with the practice manager and the receptionist that I wasn’t happy and was planning on leaving the practice and looked at other options and even got in touch with the practice next door. 6. After several calls and several weeks which then turned into two months I finally received my refund after making two calls to the head office. During this period the receptionist had told me firstly that the form I had completed had been misplaced (really reassuring knowing that it’s got my personal details on this) I was also reassured then that the refund would be made, all timescales had passed and I had to escalate to head office. During this time I had received a call from a practice manager covering the practice at the time and raised all my experiences and concerns and she said she would pass this onto the practice manager, I would’ve expected a call atleast but nothing. Overall, I was a dedicated patient at this practice and travelled far because I had trust and was happy with the service I was receiving from Sunny and Nicola. Since this takeover it’s nothing but shambles, the level of care is not ‘private’ but more NHS level, the communication is shocking, lack of care and compassion. I paid my last monthly fee last month and finally left the practice. I would rather spend my money with a practice who cares. The number of negative reviews on here is shocking and I can’t see the practice lasting long - good luck!
