I had to request an emergency appointment on Monday and was seen by Dr. Vikash and Lily — they were amazing and really put me at ease in the chair. Extremely welcoming, and my treatment was a breeze. I’ve been a private patient at Hitchin Dental for several years, and their professionalism and talented team are outstanding. Thank you once again, Hitchin Dental team!

What a great dentistry experience! Katy and her colleague were fantastic, I felt really comfortable throughout what was a big old filling, dare I say it I almost drifted off mid filing in the chair. Running late to the appointment, but a quick phone call in and thankfully even that wasn’t an issue. Whilst I don’t plan on going back soon, if I had to it wouldn’t be a bad thing 👍

I saw Katie today as an emergency appointment after breaking a tooth in half last night. She explained everything, took photos and showed me those and the x-rays. Extreamly professional, explained all options and put me at ease throughout my appointment. Katie and her clinic nurse were superb. Highly recommend Katie, super dentist and her lovely dental nurse.

Iv been seeing Dr Lewis Hazelton at Hitchin Dental for about 5 years and in that time had two tooth extractions. A brilliant level if care from him and his team. They have always been brilliant. Thank you

The rudest male receptionist when I can in. Blonde with tattoos all over his arms. Not sure if he was hungover to sleep deprived but was so rude he asked me for my name when I did so he just rolled his eyes and said "upstairs surgery 5" I felt so uncomfortable he continued to yawn in my face and rub his eyes when I was trying to ask him a question. Such a shame as the dentist and the other ladies on reception were so nice.

Amazing amazing amazing! We came here as an emergency as my child was hit by a car and his teeth are damaged. His previous dentist were awful and had no empathy and not much help. We came here and the hep and treatment has been amazing.

I have severe dental anxiety rooted in a history that most people would find hard to imagine. As a young child, all of my teeth were removed. What followed over the years were traumatic extractions at the hands of dentists who left me more broken than they found me. The result was nearly sixteen years of complete avoidance, panic attacks at the mere thought of making an appointment, and a quiet, painful habit of hiding my smile from the world so nobody would see my teeth. I had stopped smiling entirely. Not in photographs. Not at strangers. Not freely, the way people do without thinking. That was my life. My friend Rebecca, a dental nurse at Obex, was the first person to make me feel like this could be different. She didn’t push. She simply reassured me, told me about Ameena, the hygienist, and her extraordinary patience with anxious patients, and gave me just enough courage to make the call. Without Rebecca, I would never have walked through that door. What I found inside was something I genuinely did not believe existed for someone like me. Ameena and Bo, the nurse who supported throughout, were slow with me in the best possible way. They explained every single thing before they did it. They checked in with me constantly. They allowed me to cry when I cried, gave me space to be emotional, and never once made me feel like a burden or an inconvenience. The environment was calm, unhurried, and warm. At no point did I feel like a patient to be processed. I felt like a person being cared for. My teeth have been scaled and polished. They are clean and white and free of plaque, and for the first time in a very long time I have a real foundation to build my dental health on. But that is almost secondary to what this visit actually gave me. As I left today, I nearly cried again, not from fear this time, but from something closer to freedom. A kind of quiet disbelief that this was available to me. That I had done it. That three people, Ameena, Bo, and Rebecca, had between them dismantled something that had quietly imprisoned me for the better part of two decades. I smiled at a stranger on the walk home. Without embarrassment. Without covering my mouth. Without shame.
