Portman Smile Clinic Rainham

I had braces here for 3 years and I’m really pleased with the results. The whole team was professional and made me feel comfortable at every appointment. They explained everything clearly throughout the process and were always happy to answer any questions. After 3 years of treatment, my teeth look amazing and I’m so happy with my smile.

The review is based on the behaviour and conduct of one Orthodontist Quin who is incredibly rude. If you see Tracey, you'll be in good, polite and professional hands. Someone who knows how to conduct herself in a professional setting and knows she's dealing with a customer not a dog (although dogs get treated better than we were on our last visit). The reception staff are exceptionally good and professional also. I would recommend the establishment but avoid this particular practitioner who calls herself a Dr.

My daughter had an appointment at Portman Smile Clinic in Rainham. Due to heavy traffic, my GPS showed that we would be approximately 7 minutes late, so I called the clinic in advance to let them know. I was told that it would be fine as long as we were not more than 10 minutes late. We arrived 7 minutes late, exactly as I had explained on the phone, only to be told that they would not be able to see my daughter and that we would need to reschedule. We were simply sent home. What is most frustrating is that the person I spoke to on the phone could have told me this before we made the journey. Instead, we wasted our time travelling there, only to be turned away. As a result, I now have to take another day off work and take my daughter out of school again just to attend an appointment that couldn’t of have happened today. Very disappointing customer service and poor communication.

My daughter has braces under NHS so I cant comment on Pricing. But everyone we've come across at the clinic is very nice and professional, its a nice atmosphere. She has needed 2 appointment at short notice and both times were very quick at getting her appointment and getting the issue sorted quickly.

I was really, really impressed with the care both of the orthodontists gave to my daughter today at this practice during her two visits - they clearly explained everything, they spoke calmly and patiently and they explained everything they were going to do in her mouth/with her teeth before they actually carried it out (which I’ve never seen done at other dentists before - usually they just do what they need to with no explanation or managing expectations). The service was exceptional from all staff members from reception, to the orthodontists, imaging staff and assistants. The only minor downside (and it was minor) was that the phone went straight to voicemail multiple times when I tried to call in the morning to say we were running late and there was no sign left on the door when they were closed for lunch during our return visit. But the practice itself was clean, extremely friendly and professional from start to finish. Thank you - keep up the good work!

I had an appointment booked with Portman Smile Clinic, but when I arrived, I was told it had been cancelled without any prior notice. I did not receive any phone call, text message, or email informing me about the cancellation. I raised this issue with reception and explained how inconvenient this was, as I had travelled and taken time out of my day. I only received an apology, but no clear explanation or proper resolution at the time. This caused unnecessary stress and wasted time. I understand that mistakes can happen, but patients should always be informed in advance if appointments are cancelled. I have now been given a new appointment, but I hope the clinic improves its communication to prevent this from happening again to other patients.
