Southwood Dentist

I visited the Southwood dentist this afternoon Saturday 04th July 2026 and wanted to say a big thank you to two members of staff from the dental hygienist practice. Roshne and Mahima for the fantastic customer care and support they provided to me this afternoon. 10 out of 10 to both of you for making my visit to the dental centre So pleasant. During my visit, I experienced very unprofessional and uncomfortable behaviour from both the reception staff and the orthodontist I saw. The reception staff were quite rude and dismissive when speaking to me, which immediately made the experience unpleasant. In addition, the orthodontist’s attitude throughout the appointment felt very passive-aggressive and unwelcoming. The way they spoke to me made me feel uncomfortable and not respected as a patient. I believe patients should feel supported and treated with kindness, especially during dental or orthodontic treatments which can already be stressful. Overall, the atmosphere and behaviour I experienced did not meet the level of professionalism I would expect from a healthcare practice. I felt disappointed and uncomfortable during the appointment. I would appreciate it if this matter could be looked into, and I would also like reassurance that patient concerns about staff behaviour are taken seriously. I would like to raise a concern about the orthodontist’s behaviour towards teenage patients at the practice. My niece attends this orthodontist, and she has unfortunately experienced a very passive-aggressive attitude during her appointments. What is even more concerning is that my niece friends, who also attend the same practice, have described having very similar experiences. This suggests that the issue may not be isolated and that several teenage patients are being treated in a way that makes them feel uncomfortable or unwelcome. Orthodontic appointments can already be stressful for young people, and the way they are spoken to by professionals can make a big difference to how comfortable and supported they feel. A passive-aggressive tone or dismissive behaviour can be quite upsetting, especially for teenagers. I believe it is important that all patients, including younger ones, are treated with patience, kindness, and respect. I hope this feedback can be taken seriously and addressed so that future appointments are a more positive experience for my niece and other young patients.

Hygienist feedback: today I had a best hygienist experience ever! Mel was gentle, very responsive and ensured that I was comfortable at all time. We need more professional hygienist like Mel. Thank you very much Mel, you new and forever loyal customer

I have just come home from my hygienist appointment with Sofiah today, and she was brilliant. She took the time to get to know me and take a couple of minutes out of the day to chat, which I appreciated greatly. She was really gentle and explained what she was doing at every stage. If she could be my dentist too I would snap her up in a heartbeat! Thank you!

I visited today for a hygienist appointment at southwood dental.I am very nervous coming to the dentist and do like to see the same person. I saw Sofia today (first time) she was great with me even when I expressed my fear of coming and put me at ease. Everything clearly and demonstrated how I need to clean my teeth properly. She was very caring and really reassuring. Thank you!!

Sofiah was clear and concise with information and treatment I was going to receive, and I felt totally relaxed throughout the whole procedure. I have been going to Southwood for over 20 years and Sofiah is continuing the excellent service I have had over this time at this practice.
