From the moment I walk in, I’m greeted with the warmest, most genuine smiles, which instantly puts me at ease. They create such a calm and welcoming atmosphere that makes every appointment feel comfortable! As a nurse, I’ve been to quite a number of dentists over the years, but I can honestly say Ashvin and Anju are the best I’ve ever come across!! Their attention to detail, high standards of hygiene, and the GENUINE care they show for me as a patient really stand out! I always feel listened to, well looked after, and confident in the care I’m receiving. I truly wouldn’t go anywhere else now! I’m so grateful to have found them, and I can’t recommend them highly enough to anyone looking for exceptional dental care with a personal, kind touch!!

Really need to work on the phone system. Never answer calls or allow you to leave a measage. Simply make you wait and cut you off. Reception staff have said this has been shared with management but this is the system they wish to have in place. How do you expect people to communicate with you if don't want to answer your calls? What message is sent out to patients about how you view them if this is the attitude and service they receive about something as simple as expecting to speak to someone at their dental practice.

Had a wisdom tooth removed after an NHS referral to them, so not my usual dentist. The procedure on a Saturday with Dr Ilyas initially went smoothly - he was very calm and self-assured that he could remove this easily. It was pain free and done in less than 2 minutes however it started oozing pus and he had to suction and clean it out. It was that bad I could smell and taste it. I asked if I would be given antibiotics and he stated it was like a rusty nail and now the tooth was removed would drain and heal. I was discharged with no antibiotics or pain relief. 2 days later I was in agony - I rang the surgery 6 times but no-one answers the phone, you just get cut off - the option to leave a message does not work. By day 3 it was even worse so I attended the surgery - it’s lovely and quiet as the phones are on silent - after being in tears at reception I’m told the dentist is not there till Thursday but that I have been discharged so they can’t help. No compassion or assistance offered. I ended up at my own dentist ( now my hero) who has had to give me 2 lots of antibiotics, I’ve been in Urgent care for pain relief, it’s been re cleaned and packed 4 times. I’ve been to the emergency dentist as well for packing. 2 weeks later and I’m still in pain. How this surgery has been given an NHS contract when there is zero after care is beyond me.

Went for a 6 monthly checkup and arrived a little early despite having a bit of difficulty finding somewhere to park. The receptionist acted immediately and we completed the relevant forms on the tablets and asked to go upstairs to the treatment rooms. Waited for a few minutes and then seen by the dentist. She treated me efficiently and with care, there are no problems, and recommended returning in 6 months. Returned downstairs and booked the next appointment. Everything ran very smoothly, thank you

Never answer the phone lines, been ringing since they open at 9am it’s now 9.37am and still the answer machine showing phone lines aren’t even switched on past their opening times. Go in and the phones are silent so they’re ignoring on purpose. Hassle you with multiple calls and texts to keep coming back in to the surgery when the surgeons already seen and needs to refer to hospital but no they need to rinse the nhs for appointments and make excuses to waste our time instead of doing the bloody referral they promised on the last appointments. Wouldn’t recommend at all. Poor attitude from staff and receptionists when calling. What’s the point in having an answer machine say you open at 9 when 10am phones still not going through. Absolute waste of time.

I visited Drakes Minor Oral Surgery 12/02/2026 for a tooth extraction after having a traumatic experience at another clinic, and I cannot thank the team enough for how well I was treated. From the moment I arrived, I was listened to, reassured, and treated with real care. Dr Lulat took the time to understand what had happened to me previously and made sure I was properly numbed, fully tested, and completely comfortable before starting. The difference in care was unbelievable. I felt safe, respected, and looked after throughout the whole procedure. The extraction itself was quick, pain‑free, and handled with real skill. My previous experience had completely overwhelmed me, but the treatment at Drakes showed me how it should be done. I’m genuinely grateful for the professionalism, kindness, and compassion shown by the entire team. I would highly recommend Drakes to anyone, especially if you’re nervous or have had a bad experience elsewhere.

I am support worker i had to bring a client to there appointment. The appointment letter has no address onit which is weird in this day and age. I rang the number for 10mins no answer. The 85 year old client had to think really hard where the appointment was and eventually we made it. I spoke to the receptionist she said you just Google the clinic. On the letter its says the surgery is smart dental which located other side of Blackburn. In small writting it says new bank dental at the bottom of a a4 appointment letter so confusing .I told the receptionist my frustration as a Careworker .I said you need to think about the elderly people with dementia etc.she just no our problem. The elderly patient was really confused and frustrated because the surgery think all age group need to learn how to use the Internet. No ones answers the landline no address and they not willing to improve the service. I feel like im in a 3rd world country .
