Dant Y Coed Dental Practice

We have been at Dant y Coed for over 15 years and have always been very happy with it. Happily recommend them for general dentistry and implants. Special mention to our family dentist Dr Dan Prior, who fills me with confidence with his technical skills, patience and reassurance and is also brilliant with the kids. Reception staff are really helpful and easy to contact by phone and email. And huge thanks to implantologist Harrison for my new tooth.

Sarah assisted us with appointments for our daughter, it was a complex referral involving Wrexham dental works and our daughters availability from university, Sarah firstly assisted with chasing up the email referral from Wrexham dental works, planning an appointment for a consultation to correspond with our daughter being home for Easter, and forward planning for an appointment with Doctor Ravi. Returning phone calls and updates. and when we encountered a problem for the schedule composite bonding appointment Sarah spoke to Doctor Ravi to look at options, unfortunately we had to cancel the appointments, Sarah fully understood. Throughout Sarah was helpful, professional and polite nothing was too much trouble. I am writing this as people are sometimes quick to complain but seldom give thanks for an extremely positive experience. Well done Sarah, enjoy your annual leave. I had 3 wisdom teeth sorted out at Dant Y Coed and couldn't have asked for better care or team! Mel on reception was an absolute joy to speak to and Drew & Vonnie who did my procedure were fabulous, the banter was fantastic and I've never laughed so much whilst being numb!! During the consultation with Drew he went over all possible options and pros/cons to the options. On the day we also went through them again to double check everything and ended up changing the original plan, which was absolutely fine and didn't cause any issues. I had a bit of anxiety before the procedure, but was instantly put at ease and made to feel comfortable and I also felt in control the whole time. I was given so much information before and after my procedure and during the consultation, but I also did my own research which I felt helped a lot with my nerves and understanding of what was going to happen, which Drew said was a good thing! The aftercare instructions are also extremely helpful and also the email I received today from Mel was lovely. Can't fault the team or the procedure that I had done at all. Extremely professional and caring. Glad to have those nagging teeth out! Thanks to all at Dant Y Coed

I am I really big baby when it comes to dental work, my usual dentist is Ravi, I absolutely adore that man. I had a tooth removed but unfortunately it broke and because it was the one below the sinus Ravi was very cautious over trying to remove it. It started to give me problems so he suggested I made an appointment with Matt the oral surgeon. I don’t mind admitting I was bricking it, I almost cancelled. Anyway I attended and what a fantastic result. He removed the root without any problem and I had another which Ravi was going to remove in June. Matt offered to remove it at the same time! I truly didn’t feel a thing, it was a large rear molar. Matt has a lovely manner and a very gentle touch. I think I had about 12 injections, some in the roof of my mouth and hardly felt a thing. 24 hours later I haven’t needed any painkillers. Thank you Matt I am truly grateful for a job well done. 😘

So pleased with the treatment received! I was referred to the oral surgeon Drew who has been amazing from start to finish. He took the time to explain options and the plan and plan B just in case. Although it wasn't a pleasant procedure, the team were so good in checking in and ensuring I was as comfortable as possible. Whenever I will hear, the spice girls, when 2 become 1 it will remind me of the time I was at the start of my journey of getting my life back, in a dentist chair, mouth open and Drew singing along - Thanks for that 👌🤣! I recently underwent a dental procedure for which I requested sedation. The practice brought me in for a sedation assessment beforehand to complete some checks and to discuss everything with me, so that I knew what to expect and had a chance to ask any questions. The sedation nurse was super friendly, supportive and really put my mind at ease! On the day of the sedation itself, I again had the opportunity to ask questions and discuss the procedure. It was at this point that I met the specialist dentist/oral surgeon, Drew. He was very reassuring & calming in the way he spoke to me, which really helped to settle my nerves. As for the sedation/procedure, I remember the IV needle in my arm, suddenly giggling, being told it’s all done and being supported to stand & walk down the stairs. Overall, a very positive experience. Thank you!

I was referred to an Oral Surgeon called Mr Andrew Travers at Dant y Coed back in November 2024. I was seen promptly on December 19th 2024 for an Extraction of a nasty Upper Back Molar Tooth that was fractured and was giving me problems. I was terrified as I'd had a bad experience back when I was in my early 30's with a wisdom tooth, but this was at another Dental Practice. When I met Drew that morning he introduced himself, explained his role and this put me at ease immediately. Information and Communication is very important to a patient. He explained my treatment plan for that morning and the treatment commenced. The tooth eventually decided to come out after a little battle, but Drew kept me informed throughout the process, which reassured me so much. I was kept painfree throughout , even though they had to proceed to a little oral surgery resulting in 5 stitches along my gum . My recovery was amazing. Drew is an excellent , experienced Dental Surgeon which I had great faith in.... I must not forget the wondeful Yvonne, the Dental Nurse who kept me calm throughout , I knew I was in safe hands, which was so reassuring . I cant thank them enough for the excellent care I recieved that day. Excellent Service with a smile. Thank you both so much .
