I challenge any dental practice to be as efficient and friendly as Burpham Dental Care. The two receptionists, Neda and her colleague (I’ve missed the name), are courteous and ultra efficient. If I have any problem I am always seen the same day or the next day. But against this background of friendly efficiency, Dr Elma shines. She is always so cheerful; she works really fast, giving her delightful dental nurse a real challenge in keeping up with her. Dr Elma’s experience shows in how skilfully she meets the challenge of sorting out my aged teeth. In particular, her measuring for a crown fitting has proved to be accurate several times. Each crown has fitted perfectly each time. A dental appointment with Dr Elma is nearly an occasion I actually look forward to, and that’s saying something!!

We were patients of Dr Almitwaly for well over a decade and only left in 2019 because my husband's job was no longer based in Guildford. Since then we've seen several different dentists, but none have come close to the standard of care we experienced at Burpham Dental Care. We recently decided that Dr Almitwaly was worth the journey back – and we're so glad we did. What really amazed us was that, after seven years, he remembered us! Even more impressively, the wonderful reception team remembered our whole family and made us feel genuinely welcome from the moment we walked through the door. Dr Almitwaly is kind, professional, meticulous and takes the time to explain everything clearly. You never feel rushed, and it's obvious that he genuinely cares about his patients and always strives to provide the very best care. Travelling further is a small price to pay for such exceptional care. We only wish we'd come back sooner. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Dr Almitwaly and the whole team at Burpham Dental Care.

Poor communication and disappointing quality of work compared with treatment I’ve had elsewhere. One of my fillings has been sensitive since the day it was placed, which has never happened with any of my other fillings. The bite was not adjusted properly and there is a small gap where the composite should have sealed the tooth. The filling also feels rough and still causes sensitivity at times, so my new dentist will now need to assess it as it may lead to further decay. During the appointment it felt very rushed and the dentist seemed to be hacking away at my tooth with little regard for the quality of the work, which has honestly made me more avoidant of the dentist since. I also struggled to book appointments and recently received a voicemail saying I had been removed from the NHS patient list without ever being told beforehand and could only return privately. I emailed the manager about these concerns two weeks ago and have had no response. In the end I’m actually glad they removed me, as it has pushed me to go elsewhere. I will be returning to Woodbridge Dental Clinic, where I have previously found the dentist to be far more considerate and the treatment much better value for money. Based on my experience here, the quality of work wasn’t even worth the NHS tariff. I would recommend others look elsewhere.
