Cosmetic White Smiles at The Oakwood Dental Centre

I don't usually do reviews and this is my first ever Google review but I just had to for this place. I have always been anxious and self conscious about my teeth and smile and my past experience of dentists I have always felt so judged. I went to cosmetic white smiles as a new patient to get my first examination done to create my plan with them and oh my god, I have never felt so calmed and so hopeful for the future with my teeth! I had Shyaam and Chelsea and they were simply amazing. So easy going, easy to talk to and share how I'm feeling and they have me great hope and have me actually excited to go back and see them when I have my work booked in! I was dreading my first visit but these 2 along with the reception made me feel negative in any way shape or form on my visit. If anyone has any form of anxiety/nervousness about dentists or judgement these guys are simply the people to see. They prioritise how I am feeling just as much as the work they do and if my treatment is as good as how I was treated on my first visit I'm so looking forward to the end result! Very friendly, was put at ease from the moment i walked through the door. The ladies on reception were very welcoming, the enviroment was very warm and comfortable, my dentist, Shyaam, was very competent, making me feel at ease, explaining any proceedure, taking a break when he felt I needed one. Nursing staff seemed to be very efficient in their assisting and also in putting me at ease. I would strongly recommend this dental practice for any dental treament required.

Exceptional care from start to finish. Neil’s attention to detail is outstanding — he took his time replacing a major and very old filling and the result is flawless. Absolutely no discomfort whatsoever, and within a few hours I felt completely back to normal. The whole team is friendly, professional, and genuinely caring. I can’t praise them highly enough. Would never consider going anywhere else.

I am very happy with this dentist and have been going there for years after having a very bad experience at another dentist, which consisted of been told I needed £100s of filling work which they said needed doing when in fact to this day needed nothing doing. Dentistry is a lot different these days, but still would be very wary of going anywhere else. I trust this dentist and have been very happy with everything they have done for me.

I have been visiting this Dental Practice since it opened in the early 1990s. It has changed hands and is now part of a group but the care has remained the same. After Aneu Sood left I was unsure I would have such a great dentist ever again. He’d been my dentist over 30 years. However I need not have worried, Neil Patel, my new dentist is amazing.

AVOID THIS PRACTICE. If I could leave 0 stars, I would. My 5-year-old daughter has been a patient here since the age of 3. At her last appointment, I was told her next check-up could be arranged in two years’ time. When I called to book this appointment, I was informed over the phone that the practice no longer treats NHS patients, and that the window to "rejoin" (by keeping her place with a paying adult) had apparently lapsed. As a result, my 5-year-old child is now left without a dentist. No one has written to me, emailed, or formally explained this change. The NHS treatment ended on 21st December—it is now 8th January—yet there has been no grace period, no flexibility, and absolutely no customer service shown. When I asked to speak to a manager, no one was available, and there was no offer of a call back or any attempt to help resolve the situation. This is disgraceful. A young child should not be left without dental care due to poor communication and a complete lack of responsibility from the practice. I am now left scrambling to find a dentist for my daughter because of their failure to handle this professionally. Parents should be aware of how this practice treats its youngest patients.

I used to dread going to the dentist after some awful past experiences, but Cosmetic White Smiles has completely changed that. Sham is so caring, friendly, and professional — he always puts me at ease. My recent visit with the hygienist was also amazing; she was very gentle and considerate. Yes, dental visits can be pricey, but the level of care and attention here is worth every penny. The reception team are always friendly and great at working around my schedule. I’d happily recommend Cosmetic White Smiles to anyone who feels anxious about the dentist!
