While the reception staff are lovely, unfortunately I can't say the same for Dr Gracias. I have seen him twice, and both times he appeared to be more interested in money than actually treating me. I had a free check up from an offer they were running for students/under 25s, and when I sat down the first thing he asked was whether I was paying for this, followed by whether I would like to add on a service for an extra £30. The second time I saw him for a chipped front tooth that is causing me pain, he asked me how I was paying before I'd even sat in the chair. When I told him I am covered by a certificate, he appeared uninterested and just put some sort of gel on my tooth and sent me on my way, being in the room for no longer than 5 minutes. The gel he put on my tooth hasn't even worked, as I'm still in a lot of pain. I can only imagine he would have given me better service if I was a private customer, rather than an NHS customer. I won't be going back again, and that says something considering how hard it is to find an NHS dentist.

I have just finished my 13 weeks course of Invisalign with Dr Gracias and I couldn’t be more happier. From the consultation, check up visits, fittings and being finished with contouring and whitening, I couldn’t be any happier. Amazing service, very affordable and great communication throughout. Will continue with Dr Gracias as my dentist ongoing forward for anything needed!

Broke half a molar eating a toffee on the weekend (my teeth are quite old now), saw the amazing Dr. Koochek at the Excalibur Drive Surgery, sorted me out with his usual efficient, professionalism, in no time at all. Have been going to the Cathays Dental practice since it opened, would never go anywhere else and would recommend it highly!

I would not recommend this dental practice. My experience with their Invisalign service was extremely disappointing due to poor organisation and a lack of communication throughout the entire process. I began treatment with an initial scan in August, and after making full payment, I was told I would receive my retainers within two weeks. In reality, I didn’t receive them until the end of December—nearly four months later. During that time, I received no communication unless I reached out first. Every time I called for an update, I was met with unhelpful responses and, on several occasions, rude staff who simply told me to wait. There were no updates, no follow-ups, and no accountability. Now at the end of my treatment, I was advised to wait for a more permanent retainer that would last longer. Again, I was told it would take two weeks, but it ended up taking over a month to arrive—with no communication in between. For a service that I paid a significant amount of money for, the lack of professionalism and customer care has been incredibly frustrating. I genuinely regret choosing this clinic.

Had a great experience with Dr. A Koochek at Cathays Dental. Really professional, explained everything clearly, and made me feel comfortable throughout. The treatment was smooth and painless – couldn’t ask for better care. Highly recommend!

Where do I begin, never in my life have I received such care concerning my dental care. It actually makes me emotional I felt a tear drop during my treatment and it wasn’t because I was in pain. The dentist explains in detail the condition of teeth and gums then gives a realistic course of action to follow. To which I follow and have seen a vast improvement in just a couple of months! I look forward to my appointment and yes it’s worth travelling from London to wales for. I highly recommend them I was referred to by my sister. You don’t have to suffer with substandard service when you can get excellent experience you won’t regret!! Don’t walk run to the best by far. Thank you to the team at Cathy’s dental practice… can’t shout you enough!!!
